I thought Phil Gould was the greatest coach ever. At least that's what he would tell us.

The greatest coach, the greatest commentator, the greatest looking, the greatest golfer, the greatest punter, the greatest root, the greatest of all time, just ask him, he'll tell you

Gibson won his titles pre salary cap.

the Roosters titles greatly assisted with the cheque book and try keeping a team that had the likes of Sterling, Cronin, Kenny, Ella, Price, Grothe and Edge in the one side for 3 years today.

The salary cap is too big a variable to compare them for mine. Just have to look at the Storm to see how hard it is to keep a dominant side and WB has had that problem for most of his career.

Yes it would be like having a side with Langer, Walters, Renouf, Hancock, Lazarus, Currie, Allen, Gillmeister, O'Neill, Johns. Actually going through the Broncos premiership sides it's hard to find a Bronco who hasn't played SOO. Wayne didn't have to worry about a salary cap. Everyone plays for peanuts in Brisbane because they love the place. (Unless your name is Ivan)

I voted Jack because I think he had more of a concern for the game eg coaching Cronulla, Souths and Newtown and the results he achieved with them. Jack couldn't have gone to Souths because of the money or the prospect of a premiership. He had 2 rep players (Bob McCarthy at the end of his career and Terry Fahey). They were broke and won 3 games (out of 22) the previous season. They just missed the top five in his first season. People think Jack was unsuccessful at Souths but given his roster and the rookies that came in under him - Gary Hambly, Nathan Gibbs, Charlie Frith, Dean Rampling, I believe he was a reason Souths were more competitive in the 80s.

Bennett is a great coach but I have question marks over his role in super league. I don't know if Wayne was as innovative as Jack either. Jack was renowned for his coaching innovations. Bennett's teams are known for their discipline and their ability to carry out set plays and grind a team down.

well if you want to get technical yes but the insinuation was clearly that Bennett won titles because the Broncos rorted the cap.

I think that comment is unfair to Bennett
