The Triple M thread got me thinking on cover versions.

A couple of people were critical of the songs listed (I thought some of them were actually excellent covers)

SO - nomiate YOUR favourite cover version

I will kick off with Carter the Unstoppable Sex Machines version of Pet Shop Boys song "RENT"

metallica - stone cold crazy(queen)

As I've said, I don't like Metallica much, but they did a good job of Remember Tomorrow (from Iron Maiden). There was a CD released of people covering Maiden last year, worth a listen some of them. Some are god awful though.

They may not be in all seriousness, but Richard Clapton's versions of "I'm Like A Bird" and "Gangsta's Paradise" off the Musical Challenge CD's are fantastic. James Reyne's two efforts ("Wuthering Heights" and "Delilah") are also superb.
