Best Kickoff Ever

To be fair, Big Billy has brushed much bigger, stronger defenders all year.

That kick off showed balls of steel - big game moment from a big game player. Knew full well if it goes wrong he's the villain, but still had the stones to go for it. Fair play to the kid, particularly as his confidence must have been questioned following his earlier howler.

Yeah Chimp but, big game players ice the the small moments. The big game moment got us the ball back. The small game moment cost 6 points.

Holmes pretty much proved what I keep saying, he has no awareness in defence. The try Cleary scored is not the first time someone has gotten under him in the in goal. He didnt know he was coming. He should have known. The criticism of the Kikau miss isnt that he missed, it’s how and why he missed. The other criticism I still have is he approaches all his tackles with a lateral aspect. He’ll never get anyone one on one going high, coming in from the side too far and closing his eyes.

He needs to hire Billy Slater in the off season as a personal coach. Billy would do it. Queenslander. Available. Expert. Make him an offer.

Kickoff schmickoff. Sir Thomas Bishop used to do those short kick offs at least once per game. And, as a bonus if he missed out on getting the ball back he would lnflict some pain on the prick that dived on the ball before he could.

Did Sir Thomas’ kicks ever not make the 10m?

Thought he dudded the KO,fooled me.getting the pill back in the end, meant the game.
Not the first time he's let the pill not go over the dead ball line. When the pill slows like that, you grab it, even if caught in goal.safety first.

It’s very dubious if Cleary got the ball down cleanly. A side on view I saw from the other side showed he went over it,

However by the letter of the law, if the ball is on the ground & ya touch it, even with ya wrists, it’s a try.

Anyway, all Val had to do was position himself between Cleary & the ball & there is no way he gets it down then.

Lack of urgency!

Yeah bad read, he even stepped to the side to allow easier access.

I was working , only saw the second half, worst half of footy I have seen.

Rocks and diamonds. Lucky it turned out ok for us last night, but not the approach we want to take into the next two matches.

The first half was nearly perfect Surely, except for 2 Moylan knock ons (contributed by ordinary passes).

Worse than ordinary. Old fashioned hospital passes. I wouldn’t even credit those as errors to Moylan. Let the dicks who threw them at him own those errors

Yep. He was grabbing for the tag but old Billy K wouldn't stop.
No way could I blame Val for the grab on Kikau...nearly every person who watched the game expected him to offload to his support player and Val went they way too then at the last second he he had a grab at the big guy.....blame Prior & boogs for the miss in the lead up to that try.

I dont think Cleary grounded that properly at all, but Val should have had his body in between the ball and the attacking team shielding that kick not standing beside it waiting. Or just boot the farker out. Not the first time its happened and once is too many times.

If Luke Lewis is on the field Kikau doesn’t make that break.

Bukuya more responsible for it than Prior but in the end they both should have been way more committed.

Gee we are going to miss him next year.

And as big a fan of Val that I am he farked up on not kicking that ball dead.

18-2 up you just don’t take those chances.

It gave the Panthers are free try and their confidence exploded after that.

Lol
You really think he wasn’t going for the short kick off

Hahahaha

Oh, he was going for it. Thats not why I refer to it as a fluke. He bungled it though and got lucky it dribbled over the 10 metre line while the Panthers watched and hoped it wouldn’t. They reacted too late and he had a slice of luck and got a result and good on him.

My 3 year old niece did the same kick in the park earlier in the day. She got the ball back too
