Best player to never play at Origin/Test level

Nah pretty much every decent Kiwi who's stayed in the NRL has played at test level. There's a few who went to the UK who never got a test guernsey that were deserving though, Iafeta Paaleaesina is one who springs to mind, was awesome in his last year at the Warriors but went to Wigan before he could earn test honours.

Originally the thread just said best players to never play Origin, hence why I said a lot of Kiwi players.

This Peachey nonsense needs to stop. Robbie Ross and Peachey under performed in Origin and funnily enough when NSW went back to old man Brasher they had huge success.

A past it Brasher was still the best fullback in the comp. He should never have been dropped in the first place. Therefore Ross and Peachey never should have played origin.

As for Galea, his best years were before 06. His 06 year was so so. I think he should have been in the team for a couple of years.

Skandalis never making it is the bigger travesty though.

Dymock should have been in the team more often. Billy Pedan and Lance Thompson were unlucky. The Nathan Brown comments deserve more love.

Chris Heighnington should be in the current team.

Did Brett Rodwell play origin? My memory is hazy on that one.

Blacklock and Hazem should have played 10 origin games each. Sadly that didn't happen.

Peachey was given one game where he scored the match winning try. I'm sure he may have had a hand in another and Brasher wasn't a better fullback than Peachey when Brasher was at the end of his career and Peachey was in his prime.

Brett Rodwell played in 1995 i think.

Glenn Morrison was very unlucky, not only because he would not have looked out of place playing for NSW or Australia but because he seemed like the type of player that would lift for those games, particuarly Origin.

He ended up playing 316 NRL/Super League games btw, and is now an assistant coach with Wakefield.

Ken Nagas and Brett Mullins are two who should have played more Origin than they did, although Super League happened right when they were in their prime.

More recently, it's absolutely scandalous that Alan Tongue never got picked for Origin, especially when you consider overrated nuffies like Nathan Hindmarsh and Phil Bailey got picked ahead of him.

They got Mullins and Nagas right - and for joining Traitor League they didnt deserve any more rep jumpers.

Tongue should consider himself lucky to have even made first grade.
Oh, and Hayne >>>>>> Dugan ;-)

Tongue never made origin because there were about 20 better options. Simple really.

LOL @ you having 4 players who played origin, and 1 player who played tests in your "best ever team to never play origin/tests" side.

Like many Eels (Sterlo and Kenny in particular) Mark Laurie sucked in the late 80s-early 90s. The game completely passed Parramatta and their 80s stars by at that time. They were washed up, broken down and became irrelevant very quickly.

Ken Nagas is without doubt the best player never to play for a 'full fledged' Kangaroo side. Although he played in 97 and I count that.

Mullins.....injuries straight up ruined his career. It's a crying shame what happened to him.

The best player to never play Origin is probably Blacklock.

I think Aaron Payne and Nathan Friend are unlucky to never have played.

Unlucky as in they were good enough to play rep footy not as in they should be picked over Cameron Smith.

I also agree that Blacklock and Presto should have been picked at some in their careers. I also think Michael Monaghan would have made a good bench utility as well as Alan Tongue.

Can't remember who said it but someone said if Tongue was a QLD'er he would have played alot of origin.
