That's the point. Baseball cards are such a niche thing and hard to sell and traceable that it couldn't have been just a smash and grab. Leaving things that would guarantee money such as a TV or computer. The fact that he also said he had a lot of money stolen, but that wasn't important is another red flag. Put all of that and a hummer that looks like a drug dealers in the driveway and you have a lot of reason to suspect he's lying.

Complete with "PLAYUH" rego plate!

Yeah I liked the season opener.

What did people make of the hummingbird making a split second appearance in the scene where our resident nerd was going to the meet to make his exchange? Anything? Nothing? I dunno, it seemed kind of random to have that come up in shot...

So they guy they shared the tequila with... the same "Ken" from Breaking Bad whose BMW engine Walt trashed in Breaking Bad yeah?? Brilliant!

I thought that was that guy from Breaking Bad, he's such a wanker haha.

I enjoyed the opener, I don't think this show will ever reach BB's heights but it's a very good show nonetheless.

To be fair he plays a wanker to perfection. Sure he's been in other stuff in a similar role.

GW here,

This is a very, very good show.

What you have to understand is the show is playing the long game, not the short insta-gratification game you see nowadays.

We are seeing a slow descent into Saul Goodman over a few seasons. If thats too long to wait, watch an episode of Family guy.
The character development build up in this show is simply amazing as BB was.

Case in point, *SPOILER* Harry Hamlin is introduced as a passive aggressive villain all of season 1 that showed some glimpses of curious kindness at times throughout the season, which we are led to believe could just be cold sociopathic fake kindness.
In the season finale Harry is shown to actually be a really good guy who was hamstrung and just holding a secret by the real villain, Jimmys brother.

In season 2 Harry has been portrayed as a real good guy that has Jimmys back.
The transition was amazing, it wasnt even a transition, just a season long unveiling of a character and his motives.

This will be Jimmy over the shows period.

We are also seeing Mikes descent into being a true hitman rather than a standover guy.

Pretty beast episode, was so cool seeing Tuco against Mike. Nacho is a sick character also.

Krazy-8's appearance was a nice throwback.

Krazy 8 was the dude in the diner with the cash yeah? Also the guy who got choked out with the bike lock?

I noticed it while watching but wasnt 100% sure.

Yes.

I recognised him but couldn't remember who he was, then the credits came up and I saw Krazy-8.

Yes.

I recognised him but couldn't remember who he was, then the credits came up and I saw Krazy-8.

I recognised him straight away... He was also wearing a shirt which had the label of his old man's furniture store Tampico... remember when he and Walt were getting to know each other in the basement in BB, Walt said he bought Junior's crib from his old man's store years earlier????

So what do we think happened to Tuco??? The episode ended with Nacho asking Mike why he opted for only half the $50K he was offering and to get a beating at the same time... but Mike didn't answer him. At the beginning of the episode we see a flash forward of Mike with Tuco's gold boxing gloves from the bling Tuco was wearing...

I'm thinking Mike tips Tuco off that Nacho wanted him out of the picture and sees more opportunity to make much better money (which we know he needs because his daughter in law and granddaughter are struggling) with Tuco and the cartel contacts than he could with Nacho. So I think he may have double crossed Nacho... Mike starts working with Tuco and the cartel and eventually gets introduced to Fring... and you know how it goes from there...

I don't think Fring and Tuco had anything to do with each other, at least not directly.

Another thing to recall is Skinny P mentions he shared a cell with Tuco and gets Walt the intro. So we'll see that now I guess.

Yeah Tuco and Fring had no direct but you gotta figure they would have moved in same circles with the Salamanca's having such close ties to the cartel Fring was distributing for... Listen to me pretending I know how cartel's operate!

Good call on the skinny Pete/Tuco cell sharing!

How insane/clever is it that a seemingly throwaway line in season 1 of Breaking Bad can/should be used as a means of developing character background and story in a series set before the events in BB were taking place but which wasn't made until nearly 10 years later!!!
