There is such a wide gap in quality between the the top three and the rest of the comp. I guess its progress as it use to be just Perth/Sixers leading the way.

Sixers do a great job squeezing teams out of the game, even if they don’t take wickets. That being said Warner opened the batting and got out on the 101st ball of the inning. Of those 101 he faced 39. That’s criminal from the Thunder.

Ollie Davies plodded along, choking the innings for a bit of that. How Ross didn’t take a spot tonight in the batting order bears me.
This new Pommy import is deadset rubbish. At least no Gilkes.

They are completely shit. A side that needs to be blown up and start again.

Absolutely. The thunders problem is they get a player like Sams who can bowl and is a bit of an agricultural slogger and they bat him up the order. It just gives you a long tail and if you lose early wickets it means you’ve either got to really steady the ship and have a big ending or take risks to keep things moving and get rolled cheaply (like all out for 15 cheaply)

The good old Thunder are hilarious tbh.

Why have they used one of their overseas slots for an English squad player? Kohler Plodmore is fine if you're Somerset and he's a local filling a spot, but wtf are you flying him out here for? Ross Dog is at least as good...

They keep backing the same players that have failed for years and do the surprised PikaBellamy face when they fail again.

NSW Cricket has been in dire straits for 2-3 years so it's really no surprise.

Not much young talent is getting developed properly atm.

The sixers have the core of old generation to get them through along with sparks here and there.

The Thunder have always been left with the scraps and when the tank is empty this is what happens. Good enough players don't leave there states to play in a T20 franchise unless there past there peak and looking for a bit extra cash for a retirement fund.

415pm Scorchers v Heat

Then the Melbourne bash, at the home of sport mark II Docklands
715pm Stars v Renegades
Renegade win, Stars then need to beat Hobart, and rely (good luck) on thunder beating strikers

Again?

Perth Scorchers quick Jhye Richardson has been ruled out of the remainder of the BBL due to a left side strain and is a major doubt for the ODI series against West Indies next month.

Richardson pulled up sore after Scorchers' match against Brisbane Heat at the Gabba and subsequent scans showed the severity of the injury.

He had not been at his best this season with six wickets and 40.33 in matches with an economy rate 9.18 but had earned a recall to the Australia squad for the first time since 2022 for the three ODIs against West Indies.

Jhye Richardson looks like he put on 20 kilos in the offseason. No wonder he is struggling.
