You shouldnt be too hard to spot in amongst the 20 year old roid munchers with their singlets tucked into their back pockets. I will say hello when I see you.

Can't stand those people!! 'Stereo' road munchers at a metal/rock and punk festival don't mix. You can always spot them due to their attire or the fact that they will sing half heatedly to the bands main songs and chat through all the other f**king songs and genuinely act like f**k wits. I sit in the stands now and kick back and enjoy the performances now

The BDO schedule is pretty bad for me. Pearl Jam, Deftones, Snoop and Flume all playing at different stages at the same time.

Not much else I wanted to see except maybe Northlane and Beady Eye........who of course are playing at the same time as each other.

f**kin shits me that aj is now on the bdo team, it means that Soundwave is only going to get more and more diluted as he tries to pull big metal acts for both.

Deftones should bloody be on the Soundwave line up. f**k you AJ.

I actually think the Big Day Out festivals will wind wind up in the next year or 2, leaving Soundwave on its own as the big rock festival in Australia. Someone may come along and try to revive the BDO name down the track but its going the way of the dodo IMO.

Can still buy tickets to the Sydney BDO now. In previous years it would sell out months in advance.

Blues fest has been shitting on BDO and Soundwave for years.

Sly & Robbie > BDO

Went to Bluesfest last year, and already bought a 5 day pass for this year.

Waiting for the '2013 Robert Plant or Paul Simon' big name for this year though.

Pretty stoked get see Primus, Vista Chino and Mudhoney/Feedtime back to back to back. So no need to buy a BDO ticket don't get me the wrong The Hives are great live and I'd love to see Pearl Jam live but I'll take small venue gigs over festivals anyday.

Was pretty much a really expensive Pearl Jam ticket (they were awesome btw).

Primus and Northlane (once they fixed their sound issues) were good too..........but everything else was a bit meh. I don't really get what the big deal about Arcade Fire is, but each to their own.

Was pretty cool that as soon as Arcade Fire's last note played, Pearl Jam blasted out "Do the Evolution" not a second later from the next stage. Seemed to catch a lot of people off guard.

Pretty p*ssed about having to miss Deftones. Awesome idea to schedule them the same time as Pearl Jam.

Beady eye were a bit meh. I consider myself a huge oasis fan but I just find the beady eye stuff to be too bland. Liam just seems like he's trying way too hard to keep up the Shtick.

Pretty much all of my favorites on the day I've seen more than once previously. PJ, hives, DZ Deathrays, Voilent soho. Rufus weren't too bad for something the mrs dragged me to.

Primus were something special , les clay pool really is a legend.

When Soundwave becomes the only big rock festival, Soundwave will die. Can guarantee there would be less metal and punk every year and more shithouse mainstream Triple J shit, until it is as shitty as BDO is now.

Wish Australia had a standalone metal festival. Oh well. Im going to Hellfest in France in June

Went to gold coast big day out yesterday and it was great. Definitely the best I've been to. The new venue was 100 times better then the old one. Saw violent soho, kingswood, tame impala, Rufus, hives, flosstradamus, arcade fire, flume, snoop Dogg, major Lazor. Good variety, the place didn't seem crowded all day which was a bonus. Considerably less dickheads than usual too

Most fun I had at BDO was 2012 (the year Kanye played), I ended that night with the set from Noel Gallaghers high flying birds, it was sensational, didnt have his wanker vibe about him (well not a complete wanker, seemed to be enjoying himself), played mostly the new stuff, chucked in a couple of Oasis b-sides then ended with dont look back in anger, which was awesome

best venue ever, much better than that dustbowl at Parklands, best use an AFL ground have ever been put to

Primus awesome
Deftones awesome
Pearl Jam meh

No one else rates a mention for mine, way too many "dance bands" on the main stage.

The chick from Naked and Famous, would bang

bring on Soundwave, moar metal

From the sounds of it an oasis reunion shouldn't be to far away

Always preferred Noel Gallagher's Flying Birds over Beady Eye.... Kicking myself that I didn't get a ticket to his Enmore show when he was last out here for BDO, or the free BDO ticket offered to me.
