biggest Sellouts

ice cube
mobb deep
eminem
black moon
snoop dogg
UGK

the list is endless

some of them still made good music (ice cube, black moon, UGK) some mad wack sh*t (mobb deep, eminem, snoop dogg)

I'm not sure how 50 cent can be labelled a sell out if he has never actually changed....

The bloke has been a useless cookie cutter pop star his entire career. As manufactured as Mylie Cyrus.

50 cent existed before get rich or die trying and i doubt you know this

he had 4 solo's and one group album before GRODT was released - admittedly he was selling out a good year before in da club was released - but still, there was a time when he was a good, street rapper

so yeah, his entire career wasn't a pop star sell out ... only to you it was because you'd never heard of him until in da club was released

You mean back when he was a "gansta" and got shot 52,000 times in the face for being a drug dealing piece of sh*t??

I wouldn't say him changing from that lifestyle was "selling out". More like making a smart choice. His entire (successful) career was manufactured from there.

No. SOAD have been bitching about the government for years. NOFX likewise. Sellouts are people who jump on an ideological bandwagon just because they think it will give them more cred.

So what were pink's political tendencies before Dear Mr President? What did she sing about prior? (i know little about her)

Metallica.

I am a big fan so am obviously a bit biased but i don't understand where they sold out..

Black album seems to be liked by pretty much everyone, old and new fans.. I wouldn't have thought that the Loads were massive commercial successes, neither was S&M and St Anger definately wasn't..

Where is the sell out?

well one song is about a bloke she was rooting will now have to pull his dick due to her giving him the flick.

something I am sure you know plenty about.

I'm not here for your entertainment
You don't really want to mess with me tonight
Just stop and take a second
I was fine before you walked into my life
Cause you know it's over
Before it began
Keep your drink just give me the money
It's just you and your hand tonight

Metallica put out one of the heaviest and least radio friendly albums of the year and/or their career and there are numbskis on here still calling them sellouts.

Same goes for KOL and Chilli Peppers.
how does being succesful eqaute to selling out?
As far as I can see the chilli peppers are still playing the same style of music they always have.
KOL have gotten darker if anything...''youth'' sounds like a CCR greatest hits compo nowadays.

Green day...yep they suck now....but they didn't always . Dookie was great in its day.

Yep usually accompanied with "what would Cliff think" or "Cliff wouldn't stand for this sh*t"

Stupidity at it's finest.

cliff would know it is better than anything he ever did.
DM is far superior in sound quality and overall playing than anything they have done before. IMO.

It is mind boggling.

It's definately a good sound and not as predictable as their old stuff..

AJFA is still my favourite but DM rates right up there..

WTF???

I am a big fan of Death Magnetic but to say its better than Ride the Lightning or Master of Puppets?

No f**king way. Those albums are timeless and two of the best metal albums of all time.

Oh and the worst thing about DM is the sound quality.

Haven't you heard the uproar about the digital compression??

Metallica have been called sellouts since 1984 when Ride the Lightning had a ballad on it and they signed to a major label. Doing something musically different that pisses off your fans is not selling out IMO.

If anything Death Magnetic could be classified as selling out. All the hype about going back to their roots and them realising that so many new bands are still influenced by their 80s thrash. Metal's cool again.

So by giving everyone what they want it could be deemed to be selling out. Doesn't bother me though as I reckon its a top album.

You honestly think its that hard to read up on him? He had 2 albums prior, between them having only sold a few hundred thousand copies to this day. Take away all the "lets buy fiddy's old school stuff" purchases from new fans after he signed with Dre and the bloke was clearly not selling much. Got dropped from his first label too by the looks.

Changed his style sure, but he changed it in order to start his career, rather than simply to make more money. Thats different in my books.

Either way his music sucks

mate IMO their old records sound like they were recorded in a tin can.

As I said the playing on DM is way more superior ....plus heavier

Apparently Load and Reload both hit number 1 pretty quickly if i remmeber correctly...sh*thouse albums and a bit of a change on sound though. St Anger I doubt was too popular. DM is awesome. Can a band sellout and then un-sellout?
