The one from Home and Away????? [shouting] You couldn't read instructions if they were written a mile high in whiskey bottles, and that's saying something!

There are links I would post on here but they would get taken down pretty quickly. Do yourself a favour, look up doodleburger on facebook.

All of the players, officials & clubs who went to Super League. Caused the game years of problems and setbacks. One of the worst was that enormous mong Meninga giving a press conference and saying that League had never done anything for him. Also Ricky Stuart with his pathetic "Ricky Stuart has to do what's right for Ricky Stuart" gibberish.

Mark "fake retirement" Gasnier - for his devious strategy to leave and allow the merge to build a decent team, then to blow in again in the last games and retire
Matt Cooper and Ben Hornby - for retiring from rep footy and not being available for the blues
Ben Creagh and Brett Morris - for not retiring from rep footy and being available for the blues
Matt Cooper again - for always pretending to be injured during city country
Wayne Bennett

Mat Rogers.

Your old man bleeds for the Sky Blue and you pledge your allegiance to the Maroon scum of the north. Lovely.
......before putting the icing on the cake with a code switch and a tail-between-legs return. champagne stuff.

Scott Prince.

All the time and effort in the world was placed into his development, moving him to Tvl from Mt Isa, given 2 years of first grade and touted as our potential next captain and he goes and signs for Brisbane.......... will never forgive him for what he did. This was a time we needed leaders amongst the group to stand up and show the way but he scooted off like a bitch to a shoe shop.

I do not like the idea behind this thread. Players only get one life. They should be free to earn as much as they can and have the opportunity to achieve whatever tickles their fancy in the short time they have. Fans do not own the players.
 Well said!:thumb

I was really interested in the thread a while back where somebody asked how far members on this forum had gone with their league - many not that far.
Don't doubt the passion for the game everyone has but ffs this game is a lot of players' chance to make a living from what they do best as athletes. No-one who isn't in their shoes has the right to decide their future except themselves (its a tenuous future at that) yet so many have the cheek to.
Loyalty, smoyalty! This is their life....the rules of the comp means they have to do what's best for them and their families in the limited time they have - and yes, that means money these days.
In an ideal world they would remain at their home club for all their playing life (which can be gone in an instant), lay their bodies on the line every week (at risk of debilitating injury, or worse), play for peanuts, and bow down to their 'loyal' fans at every opportunity ('cos that's who made'em you know), just to make some one-eyed, know-all, pea-hearted ('cos they didn't have what it takes to go all the way), mis-guided fans feel justified & superior when their team won on the day.
See this game for what it is & enjoy what each one has to offer for the time they play for your team.

Didn't the Cowboys sign with $uperleague only 5 weeks after making their debut in the comp? I think I remember Kerry Boustead resigning from the club in disgust.

yeah, along with the Western reds and Auckland.....................

If we didn't sign with news, I doubt there would still be a team up here. We were in massive financial dires and they bailed us out. These dire times was not through a lack of fans (we were averaging about 20k over our first 3 years) but due to complete mismanagement. When Boustead quit, the club instated Rabieh Krahyem to the CEO position, he was running the leagues club up here when it was up top of the western stand. He moved from Cronulla as he had run that leagues club into the ground and pretty much sent it bankrupt and did likewise to the entire Cowboys football club whilst in charge. I know for a fact the end of year balls they were holding out at the stadium for the players and staff were around the $100k mark, a real good way to run a club........... When we signed with SL all the cash we got from them went into the stadium (those stands on top of the northern and southern hills), moving the change rooms from old disused stables to underneath the western stand and sealing of the carparks.

If we stayed in the ARL we would have been culled or died naturally for sure, thank christ we are still here and whilst we all have a fair bit of despise for New$, I think what they did by saving us was pretty noble (though no team up here means they sell no papers so I guess it is in there own benefit to keep us going). I think NQ brings a lot to the comp and it would be all the poorer without us.

How do you top that? I'll bet 1000/1 no kid ever grew up wanting that on their record. I'll also bet he's got a big garage.

And yet each code took him back...go figure. Awesome record, should happen more often
Double international - what kid wouldn't want that on their record if they could do it?
