Some of these lower grade guys failed because it is easy to make an impact in these games and also fans of clubs tend to hype them up more than deserved.

I seen someone name the likes of Brett Mullins. Bit harsh don't you think. Brett Mullins for instance got 122 First Grade tries, 11 seasons of first grade, 6 x SOO etc etc. F*ck me dead.

Wasted talent might be someone like Berrick Barnes, who switched over to that game for lollipopers before he had done anything in League.

nah richie williams debut was against the titans nearly won st the game too, a couple of games in said anasta was overated, anasta showed him up was trasnferred to penrith played one or two games and then went and played in the shute shield i think

Made his debut and scored a double in the Saints 20-18 win over the Titans.

The battle between him and Braith was gold. Not a huge Anasta fan, but watching him school that f***wit was great to watch, especially when Williams wanted to belt him because at a scrum Anasta asked if he was going to kick it, run it, or take the weak option and pass it.

you cant really call mullins a waste of talent, he should have played more rep football but he was by far a wasted talent. the same can be said of berrick barnes, he wasnt really offered the opportunity in fg while he was at the broncs and he was still quite young, his heart was in union and hes gone on to flourish, itd still be good to get him back

Fair enough that's a lot of tries,I'm just saying I think he could have been the best ever. You could compare his form of '94 to Jarryd Hayne this year if not better he was THAT good. He was just brilliant in '94-'95 he was never as dominant after some bad injuries.

Cant blame all injuries for Mullens not going on with it. He was his own worst enemy at times.

Don't ya mean Joe Williams??
No Richie. Joe never played for St George. Richie had talent to burn, but he had this unquenchable arrogance he couldn't back up. Choc Mundine had it too, but he was a very good footballer. Williams pissed it up against the wall, tried his hand at Rah Rah, and hasn't been heard of since.

not enough Ali Lauititi. Amazing ball skills for a giant, could break the line at will and scored and set up tries too.

shame he had to leave to the UK so soon...

Has anyone said Julian O'neil?
Poo in the shoe had all the skills to be a great fullback or 5-8th. Obviously the guy couldn't keep himself out of trouble off the field.

The names that sprang to my mind have all been mentioned - but they are

Tim Smith - so much promise.... so much alcohol
Martin Lang - so much power.... so little ability to change direction
Tame Tupou - so much power and speed.... so much arrogance
Setaimata Sa - so much talent.... so much laziness coupled with f**kwittery

Daine Laurie did not use to play for Northern United.

bullsh*t he didn't.

http://www.sportingpulse.com/club_info.cgi?c=7-2456-84150-0-0&sID=129106

After what was seen as a successful debut in the NSW Aboriginal Knockout in 2004 where the club was beaten 9-8 by eventual winners the Cec Patten Ron Merritt Memorial Team, Northern United unleashed young players such as Daine Laurie, Brenton Cochrane, Alwyn Roberts, Sione Tonga, Chris King and Clarence Kelly onto the rugby league seen. With talent such as the above coming through the committee looked to further push forward with another dream which was to have an Indigenous team in the local rugby league competition which was now named the Northern Rivers Regional Rugby League Competition after the old Group 1 & Group 18 competitions combined.
