Surely you're not suggesting he gets rubbed out for that hit on Dugan, there was f**k all to it
He can win you a match, but will lose you one just as readily.
Lockyer...champion, unquestionable. But didn't he also make a costly mistake in that same game? I remember it vividly. Even the best make mistakes, Slater plays at such an intensity that mistakes should be inevitable but his stuff ups have been few and far between since 2008.Most brilliant fullback of the modern era? No doubt.
Best? Hell no.
Crucial mistakes and brain snaps have cost him that. Billy ultimately cost his country a world cup. He can win you a match, but will lose you one just as readily.
For that, he can never meet the heights of a lockyer or churchill.
To even put Slater and Minichiello in the same sentence is RIDICULOUS - Minichiello doesn't even come close to Slater _ he is the BEST i have seen in my 41 years - without doubt.
Twice the player:lol:Lol may not be the best ever but he's twice the player mini was. I think I put that argument to bed about 4 years ago. Probably about the same time tt got of his moms tit, so understandable mistake.

People forget how good Minichello was pre back injuries.
Slater Mini Lockyer and Brasher (who is under rated as hell) are the best at fullback I've seen since 95 or so.
I remember being very impressed with Gary jack as a 10 year old.

Although I was partial to Matty sears when he was at the bears
What Billy is is the best of the first generation playmaking fullbacks, doesnt make him the best of all time as the position has changed alot even in the last decade.
Theres no doubt if Lockyer had of stayed there it would be him and theres no doubt someone will come along in the next 5-7 years who will play the position better then Billy.
