I actually said he has a verbal agreement with Newcastle but is giving Cronulla a chance to match the offer.cb4 said he's gone so he's gone.
The Bird has flown comment, we have advised him we won't be matching it which puts Bird in a rock and a hard place.
Does he stay with a team that is competitive in a position he doesn't want to play and contend for the finals and potentially another premiership? Does he stay for less and hope that Chad leaves so he can get the 6 jersey?
Or does he go and get paid at Newcastle but struggle to win a game?
In his spot. I would go to Newcastle. Many at Cronulla think he is will do the same. Not many are fussed.
