Worked out well for everyone I think. Bird's attitude seemed disruptive, and if we signed him on an overinflated contract based off newspaper hype, no doubt we'd start seeing dissent in the ranks. Bird gets his high profile contract and plays himself into obscurity in three seasons, we get the chance to get a centre who's happy to be there. Everyone wins! Just hope bird can make his tackles and score a couple in the grand final this year....

I get what you are saying. But he's young and probably not mature enough to handle difficult real life conversations/situations. I don't know though, just guessing.

If he's going (seems likely) then fair play to the young man. Wish him all the best to him and I (genuinely) hope the money turns out to be worth it. An integral part of our most successful squad ever and I can't recall him ever not turning up for the BW&B. Quality footy player. I have every faith in Lyall, Flanno & team to be making good decisions in the best interests of the club.
