4 year deal worth 4 million....last year option in his favour! Can't say i blame him for taking that. Will be plenty of pressure to live up to the hype next year for Jacky boy.

The club made him the highest offer in the clubs history so I read.

To leave after we won the GF last year is disrespectful and misguided.

Who cares we won J Bird just tarnishes his reputation in that winning side forever.

We move on and wish him the best.

merkins in the media and players keep talking about how it's a business now, it's a short career, you can't begrudge a player trying to make the most of it, blah blah blah.

But not for me. And not for us, i bleed black white and blue. The fan money ultimately funds all the income these players make.

F*CK BIRD. I'm gonna boo the prick every time I see him from now on.

And while were at It, F*CK SBW. Why that piece of shite was ever allowed back in the game is beyond me

Away from football, Bird is a complex individual.

At the Sharks, he is hugely respected for his raw talent but is also regarded as an aloof, highly-charged character who tests the one-in, all-in mentality of the modern-day NRL club.

Sharks players find it intriguing that Bird is allowed to sometimes miss recovery sessions. He lives in Wollongong. Instead, the team physio is sent to his home to give Bird a massage.

A fortnight ago, as Sharks veteran Chris Heighington prepared for his 300th NRL match, the Sharks organised a special team dinner. Club legend Andrew Ettingshausen was called to present his milestone jersey. Special messages from his teammates were played on a big screen.

Bird failed to turn up. Several Sharks players were filthy. Others shrugged it off as, ‘That’s Jack’.

Interesting....probably partly explains the Sharks disapointment at him moving on....would appear that Jack has had some special treatment along the way. Even thinking back to the original medical issue/costs and how Gal and the Sharks responded to his needs would leave a sour taste in many mouths now. If Birdy is a genuine princess as he has been portrayed here...even less chance it works out at the Donkeys.

The f**king Donks would be whinging because the Sharks early Bird announcement might upset some of the present squad. Blokes who are umming and arh-ing about their own intentions might want to now stop umming and start feeling out opportunities at other clubs.

The smell of the Hunt defection is fresh in their minds along with the amount of dosh he got.
