Interested to see how he goes this year.
To me he wasn't even the best player in our 20's team that he played in.
I smell a bit of the Jim Leis about him.
Doesn't mean i don't believe hes handy I just dont think he will be a superstar.

That's not even a little bit true. I get that you are trying to one-up OV, but there's unless you have proof that Manly haven't offered a contract, he could well be dealing in facts. Not all contract offerings are announced.
lol deadset talk about chasing tails!

I love the way Mary is using the media to negotiate.

In any case, move on with what we have, which is already very good.

Anybody know the status of Bird's negotiations with the Sharks.

Very strange that there has been no announcement. Maybe Jack still has doubts.

Come back Jack. This is your club, your home and your future. You know you want to!!!!!!!!

Anyone in the know?

About time. Not really news. Jack has already stated he went to the club that threw the most amount of money at him. I have no problems with that. I'm more than happy with the way our club is heading atm. They are looking good on and off the field and I believe we are going to be very competitive. That's all that matters, the rest is in the lap of the gods. Can't wait til kickoff!

As I have said, the horse has bolted with Bird.

Our roster is different now and the holes we had at the beginning of 2015 have now been plugged.

A succession plan in the event Benji leaves (Cronk?), and/or a speedy back since we missed out on Roberts (Holmes?) is where we need to focus.

With all due respect and Bird is still young and may still prove me wrong but I dont think he will become a true super star in the mould of a Milford or TVS....

Since when is Milford a superstar? At least as a 5/8. Last season he was far from the best 5/8 in the competition. Maybe he will improve this season or maybe he will go the way of Ben Barba. Bigger, slower and nowhere near as good.

Ummm he was a field goal away from winning a Clive Churchill medal.

He played very well in the GF. I didn't watch so many Broncos games but in the ones I saw, that was one of his best. I know he also went pretty well in the game when JDB was marking him but Benji taught him a lesson in the first game against the Dragons last season.

I would agree as a fullback he is a superstar. As a 5/8 he isn't even close to that yet and I have doubts he ever will be. Remember he is playing behind over half the QLD SOO pack and 2 NZ internationals.

 is it so hard for you to give credit where it is due and to whom it is due? Firstly, we won that game earlier in the year off the back of our pack and the stellar defensive effort all round. Secondly, it was Widdop who schooled him being his opposite number as well as the bloke who controlled the game for us. This was one of the games where the ball was distributed evenly between our halves and Widdop was the one who came out well on top of his opposite number and his halves partner in pretty much in every major stat. So please, get your facts straight.

I also note you have not yet been on the Captaincy thread to pass on your congratulations to our new Captain. Any particular reason for that?
