Wow, you mention a possible outcome for the future and the haters jump up and down.

ok..

lol lets not get carried away now

First of all I said possible, but second of all It's not out of the question. Austin & Sezer if currently fit are pretty much automatic selections for NSW. Unfortunately Milford & Hunt aren't in line to play rep footy this year, but they could in the future...I guess. Milford is like Kevin Walters because he left Canberra and ran back to Brisbane, heh.

Heh. Those 2 never actually played together for the Raiders btw...they may have for Parra in 2002 though.

I love how you try and bring Ben Hunt into this when you realize your little fantasy of Austin being better than Milford has done nothing but make yourself look like a f**king idiot in the world of Rugby League

I love how you're an insignificant twat.
My opinion hasn't changed. The reason this thread is still going is because it's a thought provoking subject and opinions are divided.

Thurston & Morgan V Hunt & Milford

Uh no. Although he's better than both Broncos, Thurston is an old man on his last legs. So it's not the same situation at all. Morgan is also better than Milford & Hunt currently, and probably will be well into the future.

Apologies to all of you for bringing interesting topics of discussion to the forum.

Austin and Sezer arent automatic selections for NSW lol. They are a decent chance if Canberra can go on a bit of a winning streak but remember Canberras best players at the moment are Hodgson (a pom) and Vaughan (and NSW have a glut of props)

Austin and Sezer have missed almost all of the season. Austin has played one half of football. Daley isnt keen on making changes.

I think they are potential among the best halves in NSW mind.

Agreed. I do think the potential is there, but the Raiders as a team and those two individually are going to have to be playing pretty good footy before those two are "automatic" selections.
First half of the Panthers game was promising though. We've got a LOOOOOOOONG way to go before we're at a point where Bobby is claiming

Regarding this thread, Milford is definitely the best player of them and it's not particularly close. But as ive said before, Milford for 1mil+ a year wouldnt have helped this team win, not more so than getting Hodgson, Sezer AND Austin for only a little bit more than we were willing to pay Milford.

It sucks losing an incredible talent like Milford but rebounding by getting those 3 and others has probably set us better for success.

You do realise Hunt has already played rep footy right? I guess like Kevvie Milford will go on to win a few premierships, play for Qld and Australia and prove that it was indeed the right move to make.

If you went on form it's Milford, Thurston, Morgan and then Hunt. On how you would rate each player over all you would swap Thurston and Milford, but that'll change soon enough. As good as Morgan is, Milford is better, and Hunt would be on par with Morgan.

Honestly it doesnt really cut me up that much. I hated the way it went down but we just did the same thing with Paulo, Tapine and even Austin. The NRL and the press love this sort of nonsense so its encouraged. I cant fault the broncos for doing what the raiders have now done many times.

I think it was a bit of a wake up call for the Raiders management. That signing juniors from far and wide is good in theory but very few juniors become NRL players and from that tiny group how many are going to return home when the offer is right. So juniors are important but they arent the whole story. Like out of the 2008 grand final winning under 20s side we have two players playing regular first grade (fensom and croker) and one in the squad (kennedy)

That was the team that won the grand final lol.

Anyways I wish Milford well besides when he is playing NSW and Canberra. No bitterness from me. That is just sport.

What hurts more is the Dugans and Fergusons of this world even if they are less good players because it destroyed the Raiders reputation with the local community.

If your comprehension was better, you would realise that he didn't actually compare Langer and Walters to Daley and Stuart.

Both Austin & Milford are guns.

Moses is an overrated hack who's only had a small handful of good games, much like his overrated halves partner.

That was completely uncalled for Sloppy. WTF is wrong with you?

Anyway, I'm just looking forward to getting my team's halves combo back so we can get some cohesion and momentum. Until then, this thread is on the back-burner. But as far as I'm concerned, Austin's 40mins in round 1 showed that my argument is more than valid.

Despite how highly I rate Milford, I honestly think that the Raiders are better off with him not there. Would they have gotten all the pkayers they have if he stayed? Maybe, but probably not.

Moses reminds me of Daniel Mortimer, I can't see him doing anything, it's just all hype.

& for his manager to be shopping him around as a million dollar half is a joke.

Yea it's worked out alright in the end. I mean they had to try and keep Milf, you can't let players like that go without a fight, but through bit of luck we've ended up with a great halves combo for less then what we were prepared to pay for just Milf.
And what difference would Milf, in a straight swap for Austin, make to our current team really? No matter how good you think Milf is, I really can't see it changing the team much.

Agreed.

By the same token, if Austin was at the Broncos instead of Milford I could not see them making the grand final let alone winning games like the Good Friday classic.

That's where the value lies.
