Blood Blue Packs

I really think the problem was in the "wait there's more" style of promotion the membership package received. Those who bought ST will probably not be to fused as they were after the seats and as was said at the time it was a just an increased price but those who payed $70 for non-ticketed membership expecting to receive some goodies will probably be disappointed.

I would expect a decrease in the number of non-ticketed members next year even if we have a successful year on the paddock. I consider that this will be the correct time to judge if the changes implemented were a success of the new board or not.

Totally agree, as a STH I don't really care but I'm actually spewing that I bought an extra one for an Xmas present.

Good way to get rid of excess stock....move it, move it, move it until its all gone. Move it to the unsuspecting supporters.

OK I went to the store today and tried to buy a heritage jersey using both of my vouchers (seeing as I bought a spare ticket) I was told that I can only use one voucher at a time!!!

And wtf that pack is such a piece of sh*t. I bought a stand alone one for my Dad's xmas present, I don't even reckon it would cost $10 to post it's that f**kin small. And aside from the crap quality of the cap and cooler bag, PAPER coasters? That's one renewal they won't be getting next year.

I know the packs weren't anything special Parra Guru, but just think of it this way, you've just played a major part in helping keep your beloved Eels alive, that makes me sleep well at night! :D:D:D

That's hardly an unusual restriction. Most vouchers have usage limits, for obvious reasons.

The Problem was originally you could do that. But now you can't.
originally when? this year? - I don't recall them ever giving out $20 vouchers before ..... i noticed it does say the usual cannot be used in conjuction with any other offer on the back

I'd rather spend the $70 buying first try score doubles on game days, and contribute to the club's profits that way (also with a chance of winning something back) than have $70 for a pack of stickers etc added to the STH fee.

But I understand they've got to do what they've got to do.

Not sure about anyone else who is not a STH and goes to games regularly, But Im quite happy with it, real good value. $20 discount voucher, 15% discount to majority of home games and some away games. Theres over $70 back right there throughout the year if I attend around 8-10 eels games which I intended to as a minimum anyway. Plus the nick nacks that come with it, some of it will be handy and I look forward too, other things I dont really care for.

well thats true - non-ticketed members could get good value from the discounts if they attend a few games and get a discount (only i think you have to pre-purchase to get the discount)

yes but non-ticketed members who live interstate/overseas or regional NSW may have trouble getting thier value for money.
I haven't recieved my pack yet but am very impressed by the email communication so far with the members.
Basically i think if the member is happy to pay $70 + postage get a few knick knacks and good communications about the goings on at the club and know there club will be hear in the future then most will be satisfied.

Yes this year. Some members used them at the Van in Gosford to by a back pack, they had 2 so they gave the shop 2 cards and 5 dollars. There are many more instances that I have seen.

sounds like it just depends on which staff member you get.

I don't really see it as value for money, more as my way to support the team.

In saying that, I don't particularly like getting the cheap crappy stuff. Out of all the hats i've ever got through membership only one has fit. I'd be happy with a small decent key ring a decent hat and a car sticker tbh.

I like the voucher idea, i just hope I can get to Parra for a game this year.

You see that is the thing, Previously the B&G army was an add on package for those that could not get to games, and came with all the rights and benefits you see in the Current Blue Blood pack, apart from different cheep crap for about $45.

Back then you were called a Blue and Gold Army "Member" but many asked what were you actually a member off and could use that membership to do what.

So the pack was changed to incorporate the same stuff, but to add and additional $25 charge, which will, I assume, go back to the Football club and hence make you a member of the FC.

At $45 I didn't mind the value, but at $70 I can see why some are getting upset, especially pensioners who I have spoken to, as there is no concession for the Blue Blood Pack.

The Reason I used to by a B&G army membership as well as a Season ticket was so I could get the Yearbook. However I have a feeling this will be the last year of the Yearbook and everyone will get the Annual Report at the end of this year.

Well Mark if they were doing that and the vouchers have a condition on them then it was simply a mistake by the sales person. Not really much of an issue.

The condition is not that clear, sorry to say. The Sales person was actually the Retail manager for the BGA Store, and for the longest time he was happy to do that, as it was explained to me, it is $20 that the club moved back into the account of the BGA Store, upon presentation, but the Finance department stepped in and asked him to put the sign (A4 Printed Sheet) on the wall when they saw them being used like that.

other question is, will it be the same stuff we get year after year in the blue blood pack? if they charge you $70 every year for near enough to the same stuff a lot of people will stop renewing.

I got a feeling members won't be renewing for the merchandise. By all accounts it's pretty dodgy stuff anyway. They will renew because they want to members and just take whatever merchandise is given.

Just on merchandise that reminds me. I gotta see these $60 singlets I have heard about. I have some bonds singlets that are made in aus and are about $5 a pop. I reckon the $60 must be made with silk or must be made to measure or something. It's got me stumped how it can be possible.
