aww didums.

Who do you support and why if you want to get all judgemental?

There are hardly any city fans in Manchester so i don't know why there would be any in an Aussie forum. Maybe there numbers will grow when they start winning things.

Actually no, crowds only go up for successful teams when its United. No other team has bandwagon jumpers at all....

You already know who I support :p

As for why, well in the 90's I had a friend in Primary school whose family were Scouse, I'd go to their place and see Liverpool posters in the downstairs room and he'd wear the jerseys sometimes. Another friend from schools' dad is Scouse, and back in '96 this mate went over to the UK and got photos with all the squad at a training session. He showed them to us all one morning for show and tell, and even then as an 11 year old who knew little about football, I thought that was cool. He's also wear that aqua and white diagonal jersey sometimes. At the same time, even as an impressionable 11 year old I saw people who followed Manchester United as being like people who followed the Chicago Bulls- gloryhunters with no real emotional involvement in their team. Supporting a team just because they won all the time seemed like a hollow reason to become a fan, and I didn't want to be like the other kids, wearing their bright red Umbro jerseys with SHARP on the front and the collars up ;-) When I was about 12, I was watching the news and a story came on about how Manure had changed their jersey yet again and a fan was interviewed outside the club store at OT, saying how it was hard keeping up as a supporter when the team kept changing their strip. Even at that age I thought "Why should I show any loyalty to a team who show none towards their fans and take advantage of that loyalty by screwing them for every dollar they can get?"

I started getting into Liverpool in about 2000 (no silverware that season or in '99 so I can't be classed as a gloryhunter). Got my first jersey for Christmas when I was 16, and over the last decade I have become more and more involved, to the point where I went to the UK in March and saw a few matches.

Thats alright then, as long as its not because its been in your family for years. Thats bad it seems.

Liverpool is a good choice of course as they are the team that are famous for not changing there kits at all and never do anything like United do to make money... ;-)

Maybe the City Fans dont want to go the early crow but I think they proved today they are the best team in the EPL.
Sure they can stuff it up but it would be a shame if they did.

Can anyone answer why City Fans sing Hey Jude?
I know why Blue Moon is sung but I always hear Hey jude.
Are they substituting someones name?
Love the song especially when the crowd sings along but not following City I often wondered why they sing it.
Thought they may break out in Dont Look Back in Anger given Liams always at their games.(maybe they do).

It's just a simple "na na na etc... CITY!"

I'm not denying there are people who follow Manure because it's been in the family for years. More pointing out the volume of people who use it as an excuse. I find it funny that people will shamelessly support a team because they win all the time, but then have such a problem admitting it publicly.

Liverpool have, of course, changed their strip plenty of times. But not every single season like Manure do...

You sure?

Every time they change a sponsor they change them all as well.

Liverpool do exactly the same as United, only not as well and not as big. To use that as an excuse (not that one is needed) to support a team is a bit rich.

Its all either, rich mans play thing or big business in the prem.

Liverpool have had the same strip since late 2010 when Standard Chartered came on board as sponsor. Our jersey is changing next season, but that is because Warrior sports are taking over as official gear manufacturer. Manure's 2011-12 strip is different from their 2010-11 strip, which was, again, different from their 2009-10 strip.

And don't get me started on the whole "rich mans' plaything" formula for success in the EPL. There is something wrong with the League when being bought out by a billionaire, winning silverware and then getting dropped a decade later to suffer a Leeds-like fall from grace is somehow considered acceptable. The fair play agreement can't come soon enough...

Well it's not mathematically over, but I'm calling it. City will be deserving Premier League Champions. Enjoy the drought-breaking win.

Same thing the bitter United fans go on about. It makes no sense, is boring, and has been happening since the dawn of football.

It's funny that they get upset about teams spending money I suppose they wish the league was fair again and they were the only team who could dangle £30m to a team in financial peril.

England is the Commerz league you need to spend that cash.

The only other team that has spent so much money in so little time is Chel$ki.

To break into the top 4 from being mid-table, City needed to acquire a lot of good quality players. That's what they did.

On Red Cafe right now the United "fans" are arguing if the Glazers weren't drowning the club in debt they could have been buying central midfielders so they didn't need to rely on Giggs and Scholes -- ie. They would have bought players too!
