Best Origin 6 since Campo!

FMD! I hope Pearce isn't addicted to the internet and reads all the shit written about him.

Fact is, he is the fittest and in-form half in the state.

Being picked to play #6 on his back means shit. Five-eighth and half-back are largely redundant terms in the modern game. Feeding the scrum is practically a ceremonial role. It means shit. Pearce will be the right-side half, Hodko will be the left-side half, and they'll have other specific roles based on cues set up by Daley and the coaching staff.

Without Gallen & Bird to hog ball every set and late in tackle counts, and Hayne to overshadow with his freakishness, this is now Pearce's stage to shine. He is two years older and wiser and for NSW and his own sake, I hope he plays a great game. Hopefully Farah does him a favour and gives him good service rather than loping out of dummy half and then passing him the ball once there is nothing on for THE Robbie.

Are you looking for to the most intense and toughest game of Footy in the world on Wednesday? The Kiwis can have the internationals, we only want origin ;-)

LOL @ kiwis can have the internationals. Why? Cos you can't beat us?

I'm looking for a half decent game in front of a large crowd on Wednesday. If I'm looking in the stands, I'm sure it will be satisfactory. But if I'm looking on the field, I highly doubt it will come close to a test.

Well thats not true. Intl footy and the governing bodies like the NZRL, etc are holding Intl footy back. Origin is powering on just doing what its always done, succeeding.

Ive been as active as usual sweetheart. You just havent been around to notice

Come back when your team are the World Champions

Oh I've been around buddy. It's you who was quiet like a church mouse when we hammered the Roos again.

I do plan on coming back when we are World Champs...but I'll be coming back multiple times before that too.

Singling out the NZRL I see. It won't be us who will be having a year off international footy. All because you're "too tired" to play.

It's cute how Bobby keeps bleating about international footy.

Why wouldn't I? The best team in the world plays international footy.

Did he magically Aquire a decent kicking game in those Two years .

No matter how well your forwards go ,if your half is inept at getting a repeat set ,then it's going to be hard .

As a QLDER ,talk him up as fit ,or whatever ,fact is he has a poor kicking game .

It is the NZRL that rapes the island nations for talent though but hey, I guess it's all SOO fault yeah

Long time lurker first time poster.

I'm confident in the team selected and I know they will do our state proud tommorow night regardless of the result. Stoked to see Klemmer and Jackson selected they are players of the future and have been killing it this year. Welcome back A.Fifita. Pearce has been bagged by everyone but he is a very good player and has come a fair way since origin 2013 and I believe he will be a lot better than before.

Would be great to win and stick it up to the courier fail they've been mercissaly bagging the Blues and NSW for a couple of weeks

Mercissaly?

Pray that the Blues don't play footy to the same level of your spelling.

In the current squad? RTS and Moa.

Over the years? Many more.

Wow we're really holding the international game back by selecting players who grew up in NZ and learned the game here.

As soon as we don't select players like this, they go straight into the Samoan & Tongan sides (Kasiano, Pritchard etc). That affects our depth, but we don't complain. We just go out there and be the best footy team iin the world. That doesn't really happen with the islanders who NSW/QLD select, once they're picked in Origin it may be years before they put their hand up for the island nations (Brent Kite, Reni Maitua etc). You reverse the process. You let the younger players play for their island nation, and then when they're good enough you poach them for Origin.

You have multiple Kiwis still playing Origin. 1 who moved over there to take up a footy contract. Pot, kettle, black...again.

Tamou is the only player in Origin 1 not born in Australia as far as I can tell and his family moved to Australia when he was 12 or 13. NZ have never had a problem selecting Australian born and bred players like Pritchard, Fien and Goodwin (whose father actually played for NSW and Australia) though

Also if you are going to use the argument of where they grew up and learnt the game, Foran and Nightingale should be playing for Australia seeing as though they spent the vast majority of their youth in Australia. Or is that an argument used only for you to justify NZ selecting Pacific Islanders
