No but they can bring up new ideas with the others. Like I brought up in my discussions with them the Leagues clubs should try and target a younger audience aswell. There is plenty of space there to have a different style band/entertainment in each bar/lounge area

BTW how long does voting run I'm stuck at work sunday? And who is eligible to vote, as I remember aren't there different levels of membership some are and some aren't elgible to vote.

Daz i am not sure if i will be voting for Alexander.Purely from a board view. His tv commitments means he misses a lot of games and he does not live in the local area .I have a strong view both here and on pi that board members should spend time sitting with the members to at least get a feelfor whats going on

Fair enough Murraymob. I have similar views to you on this issue.

I think it was absolutely disgraceful that Barry Walsh and Kerry Lowe didnt attend the pre-game function before the game in Brisbane this year. Petero was in attendance as well as about 100 supporters(mainly from Brisbane). As usual the board members who were paid for to go on an away trip just chose to keep to themselves and not interact with any supporters.

Barry Walsh as the Chairman of the board should have been there with Petero to present Matt Pritchard (QLD Panther) with the signed Penrith jersy for all the excellent work he has done with the Penrith Panthers Queensland Supporters Group. Unfortunately doing something like that is below Barry.

I have heard that the current Board have distributed to some people a how to vote card that doesn't include the name of Greg Chapman.

Chapman like Col Bentley were opposed to a number of things that the Board wants. This is the reason why Bentley resigned from the Board. So it seems the Board is trying to just get 9 people in there that will just say 'yes' to everything.

btw how is the leagues club trading since the renovations have finished?
the financial records would be good to know, keep hearing losses still some 15-30 million. This is just from word on the street from different people around the area.
Hopefully they are wrong.

No that's pretty much spot on. They were 6months overdue so not only lost takings but extra on tradesmans wages etc. Not being finished for the Parra and Dragons game hurt.

The last few times I have been there it's been fairly crowded on the new waterview bar. My mate who is now a dm of the club said Nov takings are up 400% on this time last year. With Cables re-opening and the golf course finally getting the scrub the grow on the course. I expect numbers to continue to grow throughout summer.

BTW the new piazza has the best steak ever

Unfortunately we have 1000's of fans who criticise the performance of the team and every two years they have the chance to make a change. However they just sit at home and can't be bothered going to the club to vote.

I believe only about 500 people voted in the current election. With Barry Walsh and the boys developing a decent amount of support in the area over 30 years its almost impossible to get new Board members until more and more people start becoming interested in the club at Board level.

Daz while ever only members of the leagues club can vote .The current board will keep stacking the votes. It is a disgrace that football club members have no voting rights

we are being told in order to change the constitution to allow football club members to vote would cost to much. But i wonder who paid for the how to vote cards naming current board members given to employees.

you are off the mark. Staff are not allowed to vote. Members of the footy club are the only members that can vote - season ticket holders cannot vote unless they are members as defined by the constitution of the footy club. claiming that the board rigs voting is libelous and I'd suggest league unlimited should think about what they allow on this forum.
