Bold and fearless?
Minor-premiers, premiers, best attacking team, average defensive team, monopolistic possession counts, a Dally M Medal for Luke Burt, a Golden Boot for Jarryd Hayne, Chris Sandow to be the State of Origin Player of the Series and Man of the Match in Game 3, decent edge defence, Willie Tonga to be the leading NRL try-scorer, Sandow to be the top NRL points-scorer, Mitchell Allgood earning international honors alongside Mannah, and us signing Will Chambers.

Bold and fearless ?
Talk about predictable predictions Boxy ! ;-)
P.S - other than being an average defensive team that is !

WOE deserves several gold stars for some spot on predictions, Stagger a couple too. The rest of us did pretty horribly. Some of Colonel's couldn't have gone more wrong.

Thanks ED. I got lucky, I guess...or unlucky if you look at it from an Eels supporter's point of view.

For me, 2012 should be an improvement (well, derr) however, I am still not confident of us making the top 8. IMO, our playing style will have to change to compliment the new players we have brought in. Sandow appears to me to be a bit of free spirit, an off-the-cuff type of player. If we are to persist with this "structured" approach (ooh, he said the "S" word), then it may take some time for Sandow to adjust. Therefore, our attack will again be less than potent for most of the year. In short, 2012 predictions are:
  • The Eels to narrowly miss the top 8
  • Kearney to still be talked about as a future great coach by his supporters at both the club & certain sections of the media
  • Despite missing the 8, the board to start talks about extending Kearney's contract
  • Sandow to have a couple more cold days than hot (55/45)
  • Hindy & Burt to get the "tap on the shoulder", announcing retirements towards the end of the year
  • Hayne to have a less than extraordinary year, prompting the usual critics to be out in force again calling him things like "lazy" and "apathetic"
  • Roberts to be a bit of flop at 6
  • Mannah & Fuifui to have great seasons & keep us competitive
  • Poore to improve but will announce he is leaving the club
  • Eels to again start slowly, losing 5 of the first 7 matches
Come SK & the boys. Prove me wrong!!!

Go the Eels!
WOE
