Tough and uncompromising. Got plenty of money in the bank so probably a good call to get out whilst he can. A great example of how far effort can take you in our game.

Anyway, the feelings of sadness I feel for his retirement will be replaced by sheer joy when the inevitable LU meltdown comes around with the news of his medical retirement

Not me BFO. I hope he is getting a medical retirement. Totally appropriate when you look at the medical retirements of Burgess and Inglis for limb injuries.

I'm not for one second suggesting they are playing games but in the future if an aging player came to an agreement with the club, what's stopping them from playing the career ending concussion card?

Concussions can't physically be monitored, only the bloke suffering knows what it's like

I guess an independent neuro specialist would give an assessment and recommendation.

The people around him watching him slowly dementing would know something is wrong.

It won't be long before a CTE diagnosis can be made pre mortem anyway. A year or two. The USA has already made software that analyses MRIs in a different way.

Gus was saying in his podcast recently how medical retirement can be rorted by clubs. They couldn't very well deny it to Cordner though with all the media on concussion.
