Boyd in hot water

We just need to get serious and demand a player swap. Hoffman, Hannant or both for Boyd. If we give Bennett everything he wants then we are just plain pathetic.

Interesting that Bennett has signed another fullback in Eden, Boyd might need to take some haircut if he is to be squeezed into the rubber cap of the Broncos.

Lol I won't pretend to know the ins and outs of this sort of shit but I find it unfathomable we'd have to pay him out given he is the one terminating the contract?

I would imagine they are actually hoping to move him on. (That is assuming the he is still legally entitled to his contract for next years.)

If the release has already been confirmed and they were just trying to help him out, then f*ck that....

“If Darius wants to leave, he will have to go for whatever the Broncos can offer him otherwise he can play here again next season. It will be up to him.”

outstanding. we're not totally incompetent.

The main question here is still has Boyd ever formally asked for a release? It appears no. He has simply told the club he wants to go. Again that was before his treatment. Also the other question noone has asked is what part did Bennett have to play in Boyd going on holidays. Every chance he greenlit it and if so it is not Boyd who is to blame for that. I doubt very highly Bennett was not informed. I think you will find this is the opinion of a dissenting voice within the club who funnily enough remains unnamed. All Gidley said was the usual avoid direct answers crap he learnt from Tinkler.

Of course he hasn't triggered the release, the moment he does he gets nothing from us.
The only leverage he has is the threat of hanging around next season and taking the full $600k.

Gids needs to grow a pair and give him 2 options, either piss off for nothing or stay and play off the bench in nSW cup and in the mean time flush away a year of your career and all your rep jumpers.

Bahhahahahaha can't believe Mimis was swindling you guys for 250k

So you can `pay' Darius to play under his dad against you.

Id hardly call it swindling

Looks like the club was looking to get rid of him and was doing the right thing by sorting out a payout in good faith. Dishing out $250K is better than $600K (keeping in mind we dont know the ins and outs of Darius' contract)

Hes now pissed on that by buggering off with 3 games to go and not notified the club that is still paying him. Now the payout has been withdrawn and the ball is back in his court

Its been a dick move from him and I simply cant wait to see the back of the bloke. Massive white elephant for the club

I know it would never happen with the whole depression thing, but technically couldn't we just sack him now? Surely him running off to Greece and not fulfilling his commitments without even telling the club would be a breach of contract?

You'd think so, yeah.

There is no way he is gonna stay anyway.

So why offer him anything.

If he stays (very very unlikely) make him play under rick

If it isn't swindling then I'm not sure what you'd call it, I never ever heard of a case where a player wants to leave and his club pays him to exercise a get out clause, it shows epic weakness on our part.
If we told him he'd spend the year in nSW cup and piss away all his rep jumpers do you really think he'd play hard ball and stay?

I would say he is in breach of contract and he should be terminated immediately without further payment.

The sooner the d!ck leaves the better.
