Breaking: Macquarie Bank wiz to join Eels Board

Or the chairman counted for 2 votes? which eliminates the CEO of any votes...

Regardless, any suggestion that not all the directors are aware is a real concern and this isn't the first time I've heard this happening in the past 12 months.

Yeah I read what you wrote and I didn't get it.

Do you mean, that the directors did not know of the AGM and the resolutions put to it, or that as the letter suggests, that Steve Sharpe intends forward Bill Moss's name to the board if the independent directorship is approved at the AGM, for the board to investigate and deliberate on.

Because if it is the latter, apparently Sharpe is sending this out to answer questions being asked of him about this resolution on what it would mean to have an independent director.

It's clear there is still a boardroom leak. Hadley just said that he'd been contacted by a board member and they hadn't been correctly informed by Sharp about the vote to appoint Moss. He also went on a rant about comments Issa had made about his wife and family and the last meeting that he was upset about. He said that the comments had got straight back to him.

Yeah I read what you wrote and I didn't get it.

I don't listen to Hadley but I'm only going by his claim of from a director to Hadley...

The appointment of an independent director was a recommendation from the last report into the overall direction of the club from memory

Disappointing that the usual merkins turn it into a he said she said argument .about time these ego driven pelicans put the club first, but that doesn't suit their agenda ,friggin dickheads

I fail to see how a director can be appointed as an "independent", even our paid CEO appointments have carried baggage with who nominated them.

If they are appointed by the NRL they may not have the clubs best interest at heart. They would also most likely have to come from nominations from the board (have perceived connections).

if they are appointed by the board, majority would chose most favourable selection to suit them.

If the members vote them, they are just another elected official.

Im a little confused but I guess thats not unexpected.
A club supporter for 50 years but not a current member and hasnt been these past 3 years?
Goodness a perpetual membership is only $100 or so. I think he could afford it.
Im all for guys like this being involved but I just think its strange hes not a member nor has he been in the recent pass. Maybe someone could explain this for me. I wonder if hes a football club member?
Im in Bill. Are you?

Yeah it sucks that only members on one side would vote for the good of the club. The ones on the other side would just vote for their preferred candidate.

I would say that said director needs to read the letter presented to members.

I take from that letter that Moss has not been voted on to be a director and the rest of it is just BS.

I don't think Stagger knows either. The letter from Sharp explains everything.
If the resolution is passed the board will decide who the independent Director will be.

I have a few concerned with blow ins that just want to join the board.... For example has this Proposed new independent member been a member of the leagues club for the last 3 years or is the board going to bend the rules for him???

It seems this Moss may have some small history against him.

Maybe as a consultant would best suit this Mr Moss bloke.

He was part of the purchase of Lime Disabled Taxis in 2006 by Macquarie. He left Macquarie in 2007, suddenly. Lime was sold in 2008 for a multi million dollar loss.*

He also owned an apartment in the Tower above Myer in Pitt Street. He was on the executive committee, essentially the Strata. Two concierges lost their jobs suddenly, dismissed by the commitee, which turned into a residents conflict.**

There is also a connection with Jayme or Jaymes Diaz, the infamous Liberal member for Greenway, whom along with his brother owned a unit in the Tower.*

His current venture Moss Capital has 2 members of Senior Management who worked for Lehman Brothers. Google Lehman Brothers if you dont know who or what they are/represent.*

What is also sensitive is the 'circle of corporate friends' surrounding the administration. Willis is a good mate of former Macquarie Banker Bill Moss who was also out to build his next fortune.
Moss had forged the $25 billion Macbank real estate empire which was rapidly falling apart. He had a relationship with Tony Sims, the liquidator who had just merged his Sims Partners with PPB.
Willis was also close to Sims, and one of the administrators appointed to Lehman Australia, Singleton, had been a partner of Sims.
In December 2008, Sims and Parbery were appointed directors of MW Capital together with Moss.

Hmmmmmmmmmm

As Stagger mentioned if this guy is what Sharpy makes him out to be, then why isnt he brought in at the expense of another board member?*

Does he meet the criteria of being a Director?

Why now at the AGM? Why did he act alone and not talk to his fellow board members? *

Maybe someone needs to have a good read of the Leagues Club Financials.*

Some very poor numbers in there. I'm sure Dennis will do that or maybe not this time round cause it suits him. Its very alarming to say the least. *

It never ends at Parra, never ends!!!!!
