According to many posters, when a player misbehaves, it is the medias fault somehow for being there to report it...

Not my philosophy..

Depends on what happened. Stewart isn't even guilty yet, but he's a goose if he did it.

The club's Chief Executive Officer Grant Mayer later issued a statement stating that on the basis of legal advice which has been received, neither the Club nor Brett will be making any further comment pending the conclusion of that investigation.

It read: "On the evening of Friday 6 March 2009, Brett Stewart of the Manly Sea Eagles was spoken to by Dee Why Police in relation to an allegation of sexual assault of a 17 year old girl.

"Having been spoken to by Police, he was released without charge.

"The allegation is denied. However, the Club acknowledges that the investigation is ongoing and in these circumstances, and on the basis of legal advice which has been received, neither the Club nor Brett will be making any further comment pending the conclusion of that investigation."

17? if he is found guilty he is in deep, so deep that he will be fired. Manly fans can jump in here and shout and scream at me if you like, but if he is guilty there is no other choice. Bad look for the poster boy of the NRL...

how bout so deep he will go to gaol you absolute f**king idiot.

i can't believe people are arguing about paying for the lawyer. That is not the issue. The issue is the *sexual assault* of a minor.

I can't believe some people have there heads burried so far into the sand.

Players punching sponsors and *assaulting* women. What a f**king start to the year, but people on here don't want to discuss these facts, they'd rather point fingers at journos, old incidents, and the salary cap.

Can't believe this forum sometimes.

I have a feeling this is just the same old. Player gets a bit loose with a perfectly willing groupie, then the next day she realizes there`s money to be made.

You know what worries me about this... My first reaction was it could be in no way true because Brett doesn't seem like the type of person... Whenever I think it's something small or a load of bullsh*t it turns out to be the worst...

He's under scrutiny, but he hasn't been charged with anything yet...

Here we go - Let's start trying to blame someone else already...

Noone's blaming anyone else but he hasn't been charged or found guilty. Guilt isn't something you get to assume just yet.

Let the investigation take place first eh?
