I think the issue is confused here though as in terms of sexual contact below 16 is a much more serious issue.

but 17 or 55 it makes no difference legally.

Well based on the way nob jockey's in here have gone on about Bird and Carney, who admittedly are wankers, I am expecting most to demand both Watmough and Stewart to be stood down. Then commence a running campaign of villification culimating in calls for hanging, because of course they like others are guilty until proven innocent.

From a club and NRL perspecetive, if charged, treat this bloke no differently to Bird. See how Manly fans like being on the receiving end of the League Unlimited kangroo court tirade.

That is correct and Stewart is only 23 himself so it isn't like him having sex with a 17 year old girl puts him in dirty old man territory. I was just pointing out that she is indeed a minor.

It will be a bad look if something dodgy did happen though. Even worse than normal really. People are going to make note of the minor issue if he is indeed guilty I would think.

Well there is a standard to uphold. You may be innocent until proven guilty, but as far as our graet league fans are concerned you are guilty until your day in court and found innocent. Even then they will have a diffent view to the courts. I guess the NRL is more worried about league fans, then justice.
