2001, 2002, 2006, 2008, 2014 were played at night.

6pm is the ideal time for mine, but C9 will kick up a stink.

I hope the NRL are strict on match start times next season......Origins are a f**king joke too with their 8pm advertised, 8:17pm actual kick-offs

I was talking about this to mates at the game.

Are we literally the only sport who doesn't start on time? What is the benefit? TV stations getting people watching for longer, but people know now and don't tune in till later.

It just pisses off the fan base. Its a net loss for the tv stations and the NRL.

Traditional areas are seeing AFL posts being erected. The uptake of the code in schools has dropped off significanlty from when I was going to school. Development work seems to be poorly targeted. Inner citybatea are being ignored or not considered for development visits. Poor marketing of the game has been witnessed over many years. Continuous changing of jumpers has caused confusion and frustration for many fans.Poor scheduling has pissed off many fans. The list goes on. And I haven't really touched on poor local league mismanagement. Its in trouble. Im seeing it in the primary schools of Newcastle where longtime inner city catholic primary schools no longer longer play the game with other codes being played like union and AFL.

2.30pm Saturday. Let’s go head to head with the southerners game in a winner takes all grudge match. Let’s decide this once and for all.

Twilight is a happy compromise. NZ gets it earlier, kids get to watch the entire game on the east coast, Nine ratings and their money can go and get f**ked.

Super League is why the Grand Final was switched to night. Broadcasters liked the game better at night because it was ideal for prime time TV.

I just hope the regional figures paint a better picture.

Don't get wrong I'm not happy with the figures but they show that rugby league is not doing the right thing for the game at large.

With the whole eastern seaboard directly involved in some way in the NRL gf it was an opportunity to have a higher overall tv ratings figure than the other code's grand final. To have Melbourne and North Qld playing and Sydney hosting should have reaped bigger ratings figures. The ratings figures in Melbourne were good and this was the good story of the figures for RL. The game in Sydney despite no Sydney club participating had a poor figure for tv ratings. This is a concern. Pretty sure other gfs with no Sydney sides participating have had bigger numbers on tv. Its something worth noting. And 6pm might also be a good timeslot for future GF’s given the daylight saving impact on this day.
