Sorry @Pippen94 and @Wb1234 but @SirPies&Beers is right.

You two did miss the point in regard to Ipswich Jets. Not once did I debate who or where they would represent specifically. All these South Queensland clubs try to represent south Queensland regardless of their location. Look no further than the Titans who have junior club pathways and school programs in Ipswich. The lines are blurred or in general, don’t exist.

My posts have been about where Jets would be located, operate and pull their resources from and reasons why. Which is Ipswich.

Again nothing stopping them from calling themselves just The Jets, South Queensland Jets or Queensland Jets and put out a statement that they intend to represent all of South Queensland or Queensland or Australia but it won’t change their location of operations nor will it change their history.

As I mentioned posts ago, they would be far off anyways like 2050/60 or at the very least waiting incase PNG potentially fell over (which I think is unlikely). That doesn’t mean there aren’t people pushing for this and making moves behind the scenes for it to happen. QRL are very pro-Ipswich and for what it’s worth they are an ARLC member.

That is exactly what the Dolphins have done.

Terry reader lives there

I’ll go with his opinion

If you’re going to have a go at pippens post make it factual

My link was definitive
He does and it doesn’t change fact that phins are still based in redcliffe and are evolution of redcliffe. they play in brissy and say they actually represent more than brissy so south Queensland really but none of they changed the fact their operations, training facilities etc are in redcliffe well kippa ring going off their official address

Redcliffe dolphins are a qrl team

They aren’t the team jn the nrl

They are playing most of their games at Suncorp stadium

Unless they moved Suncorp whilst I wasn’t watching that makes them a Brisbane team

You think the arl added a team to represent 100k people
Hang on you have been praising Vlandys for promoting a qrl club rather than creating an independent new brand. Which is it?Dolphins are Redcliffe promoted to nrl or they aren’t?

Presuming tv deal goes to form the next one after this expansion to 20 clubs will kick in in 2033.
presuming media speculation is correct and we get

perth 2027
png 2028
nz2 2031/2

then I suppose there is a chance brisbane 3 could come in sometime in the 2033-2037 tv deal.

a lot of maybes still.

easts getting the license but covering the sw corridor, either with or without the jets, seems the fave option given they have the facilities, revenue and strong systems already in place. Feels like jets would either need some significant govt support or private investment to topple easts.

but by 2033+ who knows who’ll be running the nrl or where things will be with prof sport, tv covg, revenue, playing numbers etc. it’s a fair ways away.

You think that’s a gotcha ? lol

The qrl club is still there playing in the same comp at the same ground

Sure the dolphins nrl club are fudging and faking their history which I don’t have any problem with but the quotes from terry reader and Andrew abdo say the club is Brisbane 2 and extends to Sunshine Coast

You’ve been lauding Vlandys for last 3 years for choosing a qrl club to promote to nrl over a new brand,
Now you’re saying The Dolphins and Redcliffe arent the same club. Come on get off the fence lol

Yeh the qrl team will be giving them loads and loads of juniors

And it’s the leagues club that really matters not the qrl history

Make a decent argument not semantics

We talk about easts and dolphins for the nrl cause of their cash backing and junior base

Nope

I think they should be north Brisbane dolphins

I don’t want them to play more than two games at kayo either

Indeed when Sunshine Coast stadium is finished they should move their kayo games to there

Kayo will be their training ground and base for the qrl side

The one called the Redcliffe dolphins

2 things (1 that’s already been posted).

Jets and/or Ipswich plus west of Brisbane regions, at the present, have QRL backing. That could change but with the current administration I personally can’t see it changing. Take that how you want.

As for who’ll be potentially running the NRL by 2030’s, you’re right - who knows. However, I wholeheartedly expect Ben Ikin’s name to be around that chat (might be the man, might not - who knows but I’m not afraid to post this bold prediction that he will at the very least be a potential sniff).

He has been slowly building his CV towards something like that and honestly, he should have got the Broncos gig (even though Dave’s a great executive in his own right). But again, I agree with you - who knows.

I think they should be north Brisbane dolphins
To be honest I don’t think that would have worked (re: North Brisbane). East Coast, South Queensland or Eastern Dolphins would have been much better geographical names attached to NRL Dolphins. Well and truly covers territory and doesn’t leave any particular region out. In the end I can see why they stuck with just Dolphins though (even if I don’t particularly agree with it).

Pvl is doing chairman whilst he’s ceo of racing nsw which pays his big wages

It’s literally abdo and the nrl executive who run the game with the commission and Pvl providing the direction

As long as there is growth for the game why would Pvl want to leave ?

He could go back to being a commissioner like before but then again maybe he could hang around for longer

There’s still so much stuff that needs to get done

Back in the day Brisbanites used to call this suburb "The Grange", but it looks like it's just known as Grange now.
You’re not wrong, tell you what it’s an expensive suburb to purchase property now that’s for sure. Owned a property in Lutwyche a decade or so ago (right on the border of Grange) and used to take walks along Kedron Brook track which passes right near where Crushers Leagues and their fields used to be.

The latest incarnation of Valley Diehards aren’t too far off from there (down the street if I’m not mistaken). Technically it’s in Stafford behind the shopping complex and I believe they use the old Crushers juniors/reserves fields.
