Maybe it should, but it isn't. It is inside the mother's body, and ultimately, it is her decision alone.
Yep, and that's a fair call.
I say, the man should have a say in if he wants to be in the child's life or not without financial commitment.

I know it'll be opposite of alot of people's opinion, but f**k it. Honesty!

Which is bullshit.

The father wants nothing to do with it, the mother wants nothing to do with it = all good
the father wants a baby, the woman doesn't want one = too bad
the father wants nothing to do with it, the mother wants it = unlucky, you are a dead beat father and are paying 20k a year for it for 18 years.

Bringing in the intermediary to broker the deal? Well, as far as I'm concerned that just shows what kind of bloke he is as far as not wanting to take responsibility for his actions.

As for the deal itself; he payed her 50 large to have an abortion?

In my opinion that makes his a f**king shit human being. I am 100% pro-choice and he shouldn't be using his position to pressure the woman in to anything.

I agree with 90% of your post but take exception to this. Have you ever been through a bad break up? I have and even the people you thought were most sane turn crazy. Any sort of rational though goes out the window. You cant help but bring up raw emotions and argue with each other. If a chick asked for 200k to have an abortion, the smartest thing he could do was cut ties and get someone else to sort out the money she wanted rather than continuing to argue with her.

If a chick came to you and said I want 200k to have an abortion then what should he do? Yeh sweet, heres 200k = still shit human being according to you. Nah, have it, just charge me over 20k a year for 18 years = dead beat dad.

He paid her money because she asked for money to abort it.

Interesting thought on this one, I don't think it's that bad on a modern day behaviour level.

However, the phrase that Toddy uses to deliver any punishment ( Edwards and Semi for instance ) " bringing the game into disrepute " a seems to be cast aside in cases like Cartwright and Roberts. Yes there are court issues in those other cases but hard to argue they havent done damage to the game, but the Broncos and Gus seem to be koalas ( that's an attempt at ironic inclusive humour)

Difficult to see an even handed approach from those Pelicans at the NRL

If she wanted to keep the baby its worth more to her than the $50k she got.

Unless the kid wasn't Cartwrights. She might have been with other guys too. Only reason I could see for her to get the abortion is if she never really wanted the kid, or if she wasnt 100% certain who the father was.

Everyone knows they could get a fortune being knocked up by a guy with a bit of money.

Maybe she wanted her children to be loved and supported by both parents. I get that one in 3 people in Penrith don't know who their dads are but this isn't typical of the rest of human civilization.
