Bulldogs fullback Ben Barba stood down indefinitely

Greenberg has handled the announcement well , however appears all spin to me.Especially all the stuff about Bulldogs taking care of their players.

For starters , Greenberg , has aleady confirmed he has known for a while that Barba has been having troubles. This has come to a head , not because of preemptive work by the Bulldogs management , rather Barba announced in last saturdays trial , HE DID NOT WANT TO PLAY FOOTBALL anymore.
Also what action being taken by caring Greenberg on the 4 players who were gambling with Barba before the trial game. Talk about poor team discipline.
I lost respect for Bulldogs management , when they tried to convince us that there was NO Biting incident in the finals game last year and that maddog Graham was innocent. says it all about the Bulldogs. Just crap spin.

Reality is none of us do. Greenberg called a press conference to tell everyone that he couldn't tell people anything. So far there has been plenty of speculation as to what may or may not have happened but I think anyone who is saying Greenberg has handled it well is getting way too far ahead of themselves. I don't feel sorry for Barba at this stage because I still have no idea what he has done or what the issues are. At the same time, I'm not about to judge or disparage him for the same reason.
Because unlike Manly, we don't pretend our players have done nothing wrong

There's a f**king difference between posting opinion, discussing Barba's issues and the way this has all been handled (positively or negatively)... than to posting libellous, unproven, unfounded and very clearly defamatory opinions/information etc.

Bag the club, bag Barba, bag the NRL... but don't start saying "you heard this" or "the NRL/Bulldogs/Greenberg are covering up".

If you can get sued for saying it in public, you can get sued for saying it on here. Pretty f**king simple concept.

Should have just prefaced that with "Depending which club the player belongs to..."

ok fair enough Timmah - I understand insinuation is as libel as an accusation or even an admittance.

But seriosuly then, u are a Dogs fan, I suppose you will tow the line and go along with what we've heard and are all privy too and you are more than content to believe that.

Put your own opinion down then, do u believe everything we've heard is all there is? Simple as that?
Do you think there may be more to it or it really doesn't interest you either way?
Are u able to have an opinion or is your role just to make sure no one else does?

Good to know - that's the only thing I'm getting at. The reality of a connected world like we have now is that anybody can hear or see what you say and you are liable for it. In this website's case, they're hosting such comments and as has happened in the past with different websites, that can have far-reaching consequences.

But seriosuly then, u are a Dogs fan, I suppose you will tow the line and go along with what we've heard and are all privy too and you are more than content to believe that.
I've not necessarily believed or trusted Bulldogs management in the past (i.e. 2002-2008), but I'm far more inclined to trust in the practices that the current management has in place.

I believe we quite clearly haven't heard all there is. I also believe if the club thinks it's in Ben's best interests to not have those details made public, then I trust the club's judgement. You can call that naivety, that's fine. But that's what I choose to believe.

My opinion has nothing to do with the management or moderation of this website, please be clear on that. I'm not even a moderator in this section. My previous post was merely outlining to those who are bitching about moderation of their comments, that whether they accept it or not, libel and slander are SERIOUS issues which can affect websites like these. Nobody here pays to use this forum, it's provided FOC, and the owners and administrators make the rules.

It's been "torn to pieces" to remove any potential defamatory or unsourced comments from remaining in the public eye. You'll find that this happens with many big scandal-type topics like this, because there are elements of the user base who can't help themselves and want to look like they're exposing a big issue or simply want to bring the person down. There is no doubt it happened during the Stewart events, the Benji altercation, Carney's issues... each and every time. Just because you didn't see it, doesn't mean it wasn't there.

Again, if you find a post which implicates Stewart as a guilty party now that he's been cleared, then identify it by hitting report, which then alerts the moderators here to it's presence.

I do understand your viewpoint, but I think you're allowing a little too much pro-Manly bias creep into it.

As for Coffs, you can mention it and you can mention that accusations were made - it's when you start saying "this happened" which has no basis or "this was a cover up" which is also a baseless claim - THAT is when posts get deleted.
