That should almost be their $8m under the table cap filled up

The CEO has been very transparent. They're all on back-end loaded agreements. As I understand it, Idris was on $870,000 per annum and Chris Armit will also go - he's on $680,000 per year. They easily have the cash under the cap once you take these guys out of it.

Widdop too in time, although he wasnt exactly poached from the ESL like these 3.

He really is the key to a successful england side in the next decade, looks dangerous every time he touches the ball. Imagine if that little s**t eastmond had of stayed in RL, widdop at 6 and him at 7 for a decade would have been awesome!

Great to see Graham come down, every bit of knowledge they can carry into the national side and back to SL eventually can only help A) England and B) improvement of SL. Although i would really like to see a young british outside back get a chance in the NRL.

Can't believe they had Armit for such a bargain.

A fantastic forward pack next year, probably the best in the league!

Careful. Souths have that now, don't they?

Not as relentless as the Dragons and not as good as Cronullas. Very good players no doubt, but lets see em put it together on the park first.

You could well be proven right though.

Funny how short-minded people are.

In 2012...

  • No Idris
  • No Ryan
  • No Tandy
  • Certainly more will finish up after 2011, the likes of Roberts and co come to mind
We signed, we're happy, all you haters and unproven salary-cap whinges, BURN
BTW, has anyone even stopped to think how AWESOME this is for the NRL? We now have 3 big name forwards in English football playing in our comp.

Idris on a rookie contract.
Ryan would have heavy long-serving player allowances.
Tandy on the cheap from the Storm.

Dont forget you need to sign 2 players, + Graham to fill the void. So Whatever these three were under the cap minus atleast 110-120 for 2 minimum wage players.

If Ryan was frontloaded when SBW and co went. He would be on bugger all. The other 2 bugger all. Morris, Ennis resigned

Idris was upgraded in 2009. Def not on a Rookie contract

Tandy - Minimum wage is 55k?
He was then upgraded to a 2 year deal. I won't bother guessing how much: http://www.dailytelegraph.com.au/sp...terbury-bulldogs/story-e6frexnr-1225897901664

I didnt say Tandy was on minimum, I said he would have been on the cheap. maybe 150k or so. So that frees up about 80 or so for a minimum wage player.

And Idris leaving wouldnt free up a hell of a lot maybe 100k max after another player is signed to replace him. Also he had only played about 15 or so games after resigning, and was 18 years old. Doubt it was anything over 150-200k.

Can't help but think about how badly he's going to get sunburned.

Great signing.

I was calculating in my head. Didn't mean to imply that you thought he would be on minimum.

I would guess both are up around 150k. That is 300k between them

Ben Roberts will be gone next year - 150-200k there
Michael Hodgson is retiring - dunno maybe 60-90k

There will be a few more leaving with a few more upgrades.

Its a great signing.

Don't think they are over the cap.

If they signed William Hopoate for $275k...then yeah they are. But as of right now with this signing...they are not.

Ryan, Roberts, Idris cash would equal Graham.

That's well and good.....so how they gonna pay for 2 more guys to make it 3 players for 3 players?

People keep saying more will go to.....these all need to be replaced as well. And we all know they won't promote their own juniors to the squad.
