Bulldogs sign England captain to three-year deal

If there is a team over the salary cap it's gotta be this one. Not to say they are but if anyone is, it's them.

And really, what is the attraction for playing at the Bulldogs? A young, inexperienced halves combo to play with? Bullfrog? The hotties of Bankstown? I don't get it at all... It's not like they can dangle the "brilliant playmaker or brilliant coach" carrot or the sensational Bankstown lifestyle in front of the player to entice them on the cheap.

It is actually getting a bit boring that as soon as a club sign a player the allegations start flowing that they over the cap. I do not believe that the doggies are, they certainly do not seem to have a list stacked with superstars. Plus as pointed out above, they will be losing a number of players at the end of the year.

Really? I would have said the Titans actually. Our highest paid player would have to be Pritchard who is on approx $350k

In a sea of muppetry you do get a few who do talk sense. There were a couple more earlier on too. Few and far between though.

geez... another really good pickup for the Dogs. how they keep recruiting the cream of the market i can't work out... and because it hasn't been said on this page yet, and because Timmah thinks it's lame, which lends it considerable cool points that it previously didn't have for me...

BRED NOT f**kING BOUGHT, LOL! SHIT merkinS!

It is not only the Graham signing that is prompting people to say they are over the cap.....it is also the possibility of them signing Hoppa or Sau, and the 6 or so other signings they will make before 2012 kicks off.

You think they won't sign any other established first graders before 2012?

My left nut says they will.

Then we will here how cutting Brad Morrin gave them enough space to sign, let's say someone like an Adam Blair.

Any post with the AFL words list, flag, hooter, sainters etc. is automatically disqualified from credibility no matter what if the point made is valid or not........

Todays Telecrap suggests that idris is on 220K currently. If true, some food for thought

Lol do people seriously think we are over the cap, just cause we sign someone we are over. We will have a number of players leave at years end and can anyone honestly tell me who they think will be on 350-400k at the dogs, Pritchard and that's about it.

Ignoring the incredible lame and repetitive BnB crap, and being serious for a minute - I can't see the club turning over that many players again in such great number for quite a while.

I'd also argue that at certain points in time, if you took club squads four years apart you'd find the same scenario.

Our situation is probably explained quite easily - Greenberg came in mid-08, Moore at the end of 08. That would've started a natural churn when a new management and coach come through.

The rest of this thread is the same crap I've heard all before and really can't be arsed biting at. Good trolling effort by all concerned though.

It's your club/fans that came up with B'n'B. You expect people to just forget it when Bulldogs used it against Roosters & now doing it yourselves?

The Family Club.

It was a marketing person at the club who came up with it, and it was a valid point made at the Roosters who took four high-profile players from us within 18 months.

I don't expect people to forget it - I'm simply saying it's lame and repetitive. That's my opinion.

I wonder if players are building in renegotiation plans into their contracts for 2013 onwards. i would imagine the salary cap will significantly rise in 2013 with a big TV payout.

Great player I'm excited to see him come out to Australia I just think it's a strange fit for player and club. Very very very similar player to Tolman. Two really set dominating props could really stunt Pritchard and Eastwood's creativity on the fringes. Also means less minutes for their bench props assuming both will be playing upwards of 60 minutes a game as that's where they're at their best.

It's a shot for players like Tapau, if I was another club I'd be moving in quickly. For a club that takes so much pride in its development of players and family like culture I'm surprised more dogs fans aren't upset about their recent recruitment and retention tactics. A whole forward pack with not even one developed player... you might have changed your name back to try and retain some heritage and culture but it's a fake facade.

Taupau has been playing lock in the NSW Cup. I think the Dogs have realised that he is too small for Prop in FG.

As for that shot about our "Fake Facade"...lol get a grip champ. The game has changed ever since the days the Roosters pillaged our stocks. O'Meley, Myles, Anasta, Mason...

Did you expect the Dogs to lay down and play sub standard players?

It is a fake facade, I applaud the dogs for going back to their heritage should be more teams that do it. I'd be overjoyed if Easts decided to go back to their old name and logo.

Sure you guys have to buy just like everyone else to stay competitive I'm not disagreeing with that it's the lack of junior development that's the concern.

Tapau is too small to be a prop?

Tapau - 190cm, 105kgs

Tolman - 183cm, 104kgs
Graham - 188cm, 106kgs
Paea - 185cm, 104kgs
Armit - 186cm, 106kgs
Hodgson - 187cm, 100kgs
Payne - 186cm, 101kgs

I'd suggest Tapau is playing lock because he can play a very similar role as a front row forward from there and given the depth of props in your Reserve Grade side it was the smartest thing to do.
