I've seen this guy play. He came on the scene as a youngster and is big enough, strong enough and smart enough to go on to be a real star of the game.

Sounds fair that he'd want to test himself in the NRL, like Morley and Ellis before him. Or at the every least just have two to three years down here while he's young, away from that sh*tty English weather!

Swap him for Cayless, if Cayless is at all keen. Swap him for Joe G if Bradford will take the swap. Or swap him for both. Menzies is right, this kid could go onto be the best forward in the world at some point in his career.

Who would have thought managing the cap and recrtuitment was so easy.

Everyone knows what everyone is on and players can simply be 'swapped' or shipped out elsewhere.

Never knew it was so simple.

PARRAMATTA’S audacious spending spree might not be over, with club officials setting their sights on Super League sensation Sam Burgess.
The Eels have already bolstered their roster for next season by signing Timana Tahu, Justin Poore and Shane Shackleton. However, Bradford back-rower Burgess – rated by Bradford Bulls’ teammate Steve Menzies as potentially the best forward in the world – is their latest target.
Burgess, contracted to Bradford until the end of 2010, aspires to test himself in the NRL. His manager, Chris Caisley, revealed the Bulls would consider releasing him next season if a player swap could be arranged.
‘‘He’s definitely a player of interest for us,’’ confirmed Eels chief executive Paul Osborne. ‘‘He’s someone we’re looking at but we’re pretty tight with the [salary] cap."

Todd is not contracted for next year, so it won't be a swap.

Interesting that it may be Benny that is being touted as the swap, coincidence that he is back in first grade considering he looked to be gone for all money from DA's plans, maybe it is to make the quota that they have to play like 13 games in the season before they go over there?

what are our chances casper?

Ask Paul Osborne, he has the finger on the pulse. DA would be stoked to have Sam Burgess on board, so would Fui.

Cayless is the key in all of this but gees talk about a gee up, look at Cayless now. He is one of the better NRL props in the game now. He is playing out of his skin. He really wants a premiership with the Eels before he goes.

As mentioned in some of my earlier posts there is a new spirit of mateship amongst the Eels players. This is why Joe G wants to stay on with the Eels. In fact Joe G is having a great impact on the players as well. He is walking-the-talk as is Paul Osborne (and others).

With PO & DA immense influence effecting the football club don't be surprised to hear about players adjusting their contracts (share the wealth around) down-the-line to allow their mates to stay on board as well as creating the room for other players like Sam Burgess to join them.

This attitude of true love and respect is part of what is bringing about the Eels Golden Age.

Also... Feleti Mateo will become a true superstar under Daniel Anderson. Feleti is nowhere near his peak fitness and full-powers yet. With/when his weight coming/comes down and with a battle hardened attitude to his game, Feleti will no longer fade in and out of 80 minute games and his goal line defence will be rock-solid as well.
