You have issues..

There are some very relevant questions about the Bundesliga in amongst a discussion about a topic stemming from your own post TT.

Anything interesting happening?

Some midfielder is leaving Bayern to join the VW corporate factory team.

At Bayern Thiago is going to be first choice holding midfield, Martinez back to CB and Pig Humper is unsure where he is going to play.

Anything interesting happening to the other clubs?

Go on then, what are Bayerns tactics likely to be in the new season?

Ay Tone is it only on Setanta again this season?

Yes. That it's on the same channel as the hoof-and-hope SPL and Championship is more an indictment on the intelligence of the average Australian football fan rather than on the quality of the BL.

It's not particularly well marketed here to generate the interest, the CL final was a good advert for it, but them you have the issue of how it appears the make up of the league itself goes.

What's the actual deal with the TV rights? Any official word as to why its only on setanta?

Your attempted point about football fans intelligence here makes you sound like a bit of a merkin tbqh.

The BL is the best marketed league in the world after the PL. The games are televised in HD on a Fox Sports affiliate in Germany with English commentators at every game.

The only reason why the BL isn't on Fox here is lack of demand due to ignorance from your average football fan.

I believe Foxsports had a choice between BL and NFL, so with how much the sport is growing in Aus, they pick NFL.

But i loved it, when it was on ONE HD, only downside was too many Bayern or Dortmund games, didn't see many of the smaller games, but obviously picking between those 2, was ways going to be better for ratings.

What marketing of the league takes place in Australia?

I was talking globally.

The BL has preview shows, highlights shows, and magazine-style shows (all in English) just like the PL. It's a better packaged and marketed league than La Liga and Serie A.

But if the majority of the pro-PL Australian football fans are in denial (just like Wireman and others) about the quality of the BL, it's no wonder Fox has left it alone. They can be contented with Hull v Norwich. I'll watch Mainz v Stuttgart instead.

There are also podcasts in English and websites dedicated to the BuLi coming from everywhere but hey the sheep are happy to be lazy and accept what dickheads like Mark Bosnich and Robbie Slater have to say as fact. Everything is on the internet and you get people sit there and say "oh but I can't watch this or that" " I never heard..." "I don't know"

Anyway, back to nuffy British teams like Celtic and West Ham....

So there is little marketing in Australia?

How often do teams come out this way to play?

I'd say BL clubs dominating Europe last season was pretty good marketing.

It's not the BL's fault fans in Australia like a league that had no representative in the final 8 of the world's premiere club competition.

What marketing do you want them to do here?

So they don't come out this way then I assume?

Why are you banging on about Australian fans intelligence, when the league is doing little to attract the fans in the first place.

As I said, that kind of argument just makes you seem like a merkin and does little to try and push the merits of the league,

Why do I need to push the merits of the league when it more than proved its worth in April and May last season? If fans here can't see that it's in the world's top 3 leagues, they are stupid.

And using your logic, why aren't Serie A or the Greek SL on any English-speaking pay TV stations in Australia? Juventus and Olympiakos have been out here in the last few years.
