He got 4-5 weeks (not sure which) from the Pommy league for gouging DWZ in the 3rd Test last year (see above). The Raiders kid got 5 weeks, I think it'll be 6 weeks. Straight to the judiciary hopefully.

Tsk Tsk Tsk. If he gets less than Hudson Young, especially since he has repeatedly offended in this area, than im Norm Macdonald!

Lets see how seriously the NRL treats the most blatant version of an eye gouge you will ever see. If he only gets 6 weeks or less, than the NRL should be held liable for any future eye gouge that results in damage to a players vision. He should be out for a season for that.

Eye gouges need to be seriously punished. It’s f**king dangerous. Give him 8 weeks

I'm sorry, but 8 weeks isn't nearly enough for that shit.
Burgess knew exactly what he was doing. He would have known he had his fingers in the eyes. It was deliberate. It was a cheap shot and f**king grubby. It's a blight on our game.
If the NRL do not come down hard on this, then they are just as complicit in endangering the safety of players as Burgess was.
Look how long it has taken them to crack down on the crusher tackle? They are lucky that no one has ended up in a wheelchair from one of those, due to their lack of action. They have allowed the wrestle into the game and it is destroying it. This eye gouge just takes it to another level and if the NRL seriously do not rub this grub out for months, it will be a disgrace to the game.
I have nothing personal against George Burgess. It is the act, and the fact he has previous, that I despise.
Beyond that, a player could have lost their sight in one eye tonight. Burgess's finger looked almost 1st knuckle deep at one stage. It was horrific.

Fair call, agreed
