Thurston will have a lot on his shoulders next year.

He'll have Matt Bowen on his shoulders come fulltime on grand final day. :D :D

Great pickup for us, cant wait to see him and Thurston going round next year.

As for Jackson Nicholou, he is probably a year away from handling the big time, he'll stay and might even slot in somewhere else if needed. Will be handy come origin

He's a year away from the big time and Burns has signed for 3 years, what happens when he is ready?. He might slot in somewhere else, though one of the main reasons he went to the Cowboys was to play at 5/8.....but i'm sure he'll be happy having to "slot in" elsewhere. On the bright side though i'm sure Jackson will enjoy his 3 games a year come origin time

Is better, and why Burns left.

No way that is a better lineup for the Cowboys. I'd take the 4 Cowboys before that Manly 4.

I can see this turning out to be another "Thurston signing". Bulldogs are still spewing he got away and Manly will be the same down the track. You mark my words.
I can't believe my club didn't have a crack at Burns and for that matter Thurston, look what we ended up with Kimmorley/Seymour. f**k!!!!!!!!

This is not the news I wanted to see. Burns is a great asset to our Manly team and it is really sad to see him leave. Good Luck up north Burnsy. Atleast there is One Cowboy player I can cheer for when I watch them on the TV.

Burns said on 10 News that the Cowboys are set for a premiership in the next few years, unlike his current club.

Jamie Lyon is not a number 6. Burns is.

Sure he did it in Pommie Land but anyone could be a superstar over there.

He played 5/8 for about 2 games over here, and am sure 1 of them was aginst lower opposition in the Challenge Cup. He killed it playing at centre for 2 seasons!

Burns is a great, great defender but substandard in attack, continuously taking on the line and stunting any possible backline movement. Should suit the Cowboys perfectly seeing as their centres and wingers are distinctly average anyway.

He is a good defender and ok ball runner, but can you honestly remember more then 1 try he has ever set up? Comparing him to Thurston is laughable

Somebody's not happy about coming off the bench...

Dissapointed, but certainly not gutted. If we lose either Ballin or Groome in the next season and a half, the knives will be out.

Not a Burns fan, however he has made the right move and will fit in nicely with the Cowboys.
Thursto and Burns will be a great combo.

great signing for the cowgirls. With thurston, bowen and payne causing havok you don't need another ball player in the team. Burns will do all the 1%'s which will keep the pressure of thurston.

Not that fussed about him leaving

In 3 games this season Lyon has shown more skill and potential in attack at 6, and is a better defender than Burns too.

Lyon will be a far better 6 than Burns in 5 years time

All the Lyon will never be a 5/8, get him back to centre talk is very reminicent of what i heard for about 6 months about Lockyer, lucky the people with the footy knowledge than ran the club stayed with it instead of listening to the fans
