With the info coming out this week, it is clear Burt wasn't "dropped" at all, and it was all a smoke screen.
I don't knwo about sensible or not, but I just haven't joined in the "Hayne will save us" hysteria... his form is and has been as bad as anyone else in the team this year - worse if you count the fact he hasn't polled a single point in this forum's overall 3,2,1 for matches this year?

TBH Bart, I don't know too many people who have claimed that.
lol, it may not have been explicitly stated like that but it's sure been put out there, in between the lines if nothing else.
Lying? Sorry, you'll have to be more specific?I just thought you would avoid lying to support your argument
All most people have said is that he is a better option at Fullback.
Suity

Just having a laugh Suity.TBH Bart, I don't know too many people who have claimed that. All most people have said is that he is a better option at Fullback.
Don't let your personal bias cloud the comments at hand. ;-)

Suggesting that anyone said that Hayne was the saviour.
...where I was talking about my own view, not making claims about anyone else's specific view?I don't knwo about sensible or not, but I just haven't joined in the "Hayne will save us" hysteria...
No need to be offended HD, I wasn't calling out you or your view specifically.I was one of the main proponents of moving Hayne to fullback but I certainly never proclaimed him to be the saviour. I don't recall anyone else doing so either.
Considering it was the major topic of discussion here and considering the severity of the heat in the debate, it's not drawing too long of a bow to suggest that the feeling (from some) was that the major change that needed to be made was for Burt to go and Hayne to replace him.
For some reason people just seemed to have it in their mind that this would make a difference. As such, there was indeed a bit of a hint of "Hayne will be our saviour" in the discussion. It was more implicit than explicit, however.
You're right. Despite the headlines and carry-on in here, Hagan's only quote in this articleBart, the article doesn't actually say he wasn't dropped. It is not very specific.
Maybe.... same goes for any position or idea anyone has. But it seems pretty clear now that Burt's absence last week was not as sinister or exciting as was made out here, and all I'm saying is neither should his reinstatement at #1, if it indeed happens.Maybe he was dropped but then couldn't play for Wenty due to a personal matter. We just don't know.
That's how I remember it HJ. having been taken to task in many threads that week or two for not sharing the same opinion of Hayne at the back, and being compared to ParraPete in terms of not giving into the masses, it seems to me a bit strange of some to say it didn't go on.For some reason people just seemed to have it in their mind that this would make a difference. As such, there was indeed a bit of a hint of "Hayne will be our saviour" in the discussion. It was more implicit than explicit, however.
