Burt re-signs with Eels

March 17, 2010 - 2:14PM
Parramatta have re-signed veteran winger Luke Burt to a new three-year deal that will keep him at the NRL club until the end of 2012.
The 28-year-old, who will play his 200th first grade game in Sunday's clash with Manly says he now wants to finish his career at the club.
"To be able to stay at this club for longer was always a goal of mine," said Burt, who started his career at Parramatta in 1999.
"There's no way I'd want to be anywhere else."
Eels chief executive Paul Osborne said Burt's form late last season forced the club to offer him a new deal.
"Luke's the type of player we want to keep around here for a long time, and build the club around into the future," Osborne said.
"Guys like him, Daniel Mortimer, Nathan Hindmarsh, Nathan Cayless, these are the types of players that make me encouraged about the future."

maybe cos fui hasn't actually signed anything .... we have history with fui's signature

I assume even though it was all said before, Burt, his manager and hte club have only now finalised the deal and put pen to paper

Great to hear!!! Why wouldn't they have announced Fui at the same time???

well, I'm sure when Fui hits his 100th game at the club in 2 weeks time, the eels PR department will be working over time to make a similar announcement ;-)

I hope Mateo, K Keating and Inu have milestones coming up.

Burt now should overtake kenny as our leading try scorer. will be a good day when that happens.
