I believe we should have tried harder to sign Williams before we re-signed Burt. He has a lot better try scoring rate and can also be a handy goal kicker. I am sure they would have been asking for similar money.

Oh well good for depth I suppose

probably a sign that Johnny is as good as gone :(

Im pretty sure that John Williams will be playing for MAnly next season. They have been after him for a number of seasons and he wants to find a permenent place in first grade

That definitely is a suprise but as said before he will be good for depth and it certainly shows that he has strong character to want to fight his way back. I also have no doubt that he would have taken reduced earnings for the contract. Does seem like the writing is on the wall for Williams though now doesn't it.

Seems coach Hagan has a good impression of him, time will tell if it correct or not.
Has a good kicking game on him in general play, hmm a 5/8 option?

You forgot to mention that he's a 40/20 specialist (well he got 2 once). :p

I hope this doesnt come back to haunt, whilst Burt is a good player, I much prefer John Williams for his general play, he's got a good strike rate as a far as tryscoring goes and he's got plenty of speed, much like Grothe.

I like Burt cause of his goal kicking, but hasnt his form dropped this year.

"Luke Burt is sh!t. He only gets a game because he is one of Brian Smith's favourites"....

How many times did i hear that tripe on here. Yet we are keeping him.

In two years, how long will that mean Luke has been at the club?

About 10 years too long...

How many clubs would seriously sign him? Me thinks a pay cut was taken once again

GOOD MOVE!, IMO top two resignings had to be morris and burt, atleast we got one out of the 2. Whilst i agree burt would be an awesoem FB, its tough to deny Hayne that spot, An if williams stays and morris goes, the most logical place could be 5/8th, i mean preston campbell made that transition and geyer does it on occasion too, he was our leading 40/20 kciker last yr, and does have a good boot on him, im not too sure about his passing though.

Oh for f**ks sake can this year get any worse? I bet Hayne spends more time in reserves than first grade next year in favour of this hack who has never done anything in first grade. I thought Hagan was going to have a big clean out of all the trash here, and now Burt re-signs? I bet Wagon adds another year to his deal soon too.

I only hope that this re-signing was on a very small amount of money and he signed on mostly to avoid the embarassment of going from the NRL to the QLD cup because nobody else was stupid enough to sign him. Argh.
