As much as I think he would be a great coach.

I see administration, perhaps NRL chairman one day.

He has ruled out coaching, correctly identified the 24x7, 7 day commintment it plays in a mans life, which he does not want, well now anyway.

Management and administration requires less commitment, but much smarts, which he has.

Just IMHO.
The stench of his involvement in the cap scandal will prevent him ever being part of the admin that runs the game

Has a greatest ever player been involved in so many losing/revoked grand final teams?
2006,07,08,09,16,18?

can he win a grand final without Cronk and slater?

he will not beat Cooper’s 4 grand final
wins, that will forever hurt him.

When the bloke who’s played more games of the toughest sport on the planet than anyone in history, who’s led his club state and country to more victories than anyone else, and won more awards than anyone else..

Is told anonymous people on keyboards don’t like him.

You do realise that this is a public forum & the very purpose of such a forum is for people to share their thoughts & views on varying topics. I don't think there are many contributors (if any at all) that are denying his brilliant footballing ability.

I'll play along with your moronic game of adding ridiculous comments to a random Cameron Smith picture because your jimmies are rustled that others dare criticise him.

Cam Smiths reaction to the news that Alex McKinnon broke his neck due to one of their tackles, directly after arguing with the referee about said tackle, when the referee agreed to a penalty and only placing the player on report.

I hope the ARLC sign Smith up as a development officer and send him to schools across Melbourne to run RL clinics and deliver promotional speeches about RL. He's a good talker and has been uber successful, so he would be someone who could get kids interested in the game. The fact he enjoyed success at Test football is a point of difference that AwFuL cannot counter.

COAT, most consistent of all time.

But I can't remember a game where he pulled off a play that won a big game.

Thurston did it.
Inglis did
Cronk did.
Slater did.
Lockyer did.
Fittler did.
Johns did.
Lewis did.
Stuart did.
Meninga did.

But Cameron? Can't recall one.

Ha. Touchy ...

No need to educate me in the purpose of the forums. I’m an anonymous person just like you. I’m just saying that a bloke who’s regarded amongst so many as the best player in the history of the sport would laugh at what’s been written in here...

As for your reply - says it all really. About you, not smith.

“Won”.

Those guys are all amazing players who did indeed do what you suggest on multiple occasions. And I think are greats of the game. But I still think Smith is by far the best because of all the stuff he does in a game that you don’t notice..eg none of those guys touch the ball or make more tackles in a game than smith.

That said, Smith isn’t one of my favourite players. To me, favourite and best are completely different.

Ricky Stuart, Mal Meninga and Greg Inglis on that list are 3 of my all time favourites for the reasons you mentioned. Others are dragons and so I’m biased in that way.

Smith wouldn’t make my top ten all time favourites but doesn’t mean he’s not the best. Just my opinion.

Not at all, just pointing out the futility of your comments that accompany the photo. As I had stated, next to no one on here is doubting his football ability.

You think that a bloke who's achieved all that he has would react differently if he was told some forummers dont like him? If so, how?

If different, feel free to add a picture of him from the internet to explain your view.

It's not futile at all. I'm saying that he couldn't give a flying fig and would laugh.

Agreed with your last sentence.

How he reacts is absolutely of no concern to me, I doubt anyone on here (except you) gives a rats how he may or may not react. The fact you felt the need to represent how you think he would react is pretty funny.

He's right though.

Complete f**kwits are usually oblivious to, or revel in, other people thinking they're complete f**kwits.

He's objectively a f**kwit and will be remembered as such, despite his greatness in the field. People want to make themselves feel better by calling it whinging or salt or whatever, that's fine by me

You can add Langer and the Walters brothers to that list. Mark Coyne scored that "miracle" try for Queensland in 1994.

Cronk's kicking game and game management was perfect. He's everything you want from a halfback in the modern game.
