Every team wrestles.

But the Storm have taken it to a new level (grapples, arm grabs and twists etc) and do it more often than any other side.

http://www.news.com.au/heraldsun/story/0,21985,24109880-11088,00.html

Storm is fourth on the list of incidents reviewed, behind surprising leader Wests Tigers.
The Tigers (20) top the list, with South Sydney (19) and Canterbury (17) behind them.
Sydney Roosters and Canberra - whose coaches have been highly critical of Storm's defence - have had 15 incidents flagged by the committee, just one fewer than Melbourne. Manly and Gold Coast have had 14, while Nathan Brown's Dragons are a further one behind.

Just for you mate incase you missed it before we don't do it more often than any other team.

the excuse is 'its a news lmtd' news paper...blah blah blah
Yes i got that excuse when i poseted it only an hour or so ago. But like i said then and i'll say again the results come from the MRC rather than the newspapers.
The next favourite answer to that is well its an nrl conspiracy.

Fair enough, I didn't read that before.

But I still think that the Storm have taken wrestling to a new level. And when you hear stories of feeder club players being taught grapple-esque moves, it doesn't exactly give the best impression.

Fair enough i'll admit the storm have and continue to push all the boundries in regards to the wrestle. But i have to admit that i haven't heard of the feeder club players being taught it as well but i suppose alot of the nrl clubs have wrestling coaches now so it was only a matter of time before it filtered down

But can you prove that?

Maybe the newspapers made it all up as no one has seen the original papers.

Everyone is always down for a good conspiracy. The CIA watch my every move, Aliens exist, We did not land on the moon and Melbourne are protected by the MRP/newslimited.

The wrestling stories were heard a few years ago. Long before the Storm's tackling style appeared in the headlines.

But I think this is where a lot of the hate stems from. The game is becoming bogged down in the play the ball and people (whether it be rightly of wrongly I'm not sure) blame the Storm.

I was watching the replay of the grand final from last year today, and there were 2 perfect chicken wings... by Manly players.
If we invented it about round 6 this year or whenever the thing was raised, why was it happening against us last year?
Anyway, I don't care. We won, Smith will be fine for next week, and it should be a cracker against the Sharkies

How about this for some evidence. Cross saying yes he was taught wresiling moves at the Storm but was first taught it at Canberra.

 What was that? The first team that cried 'grapple' taught the same moves. I am shocked. I though the Storm was the only team.

Nervous wait ... The tackle that could cause Cameron Smith concern this week. / The Sunday Telegraph

MELBOURNE could have to continue their premiership defence without Cameron Smith after the Test skipper was at the centre of a grapple tackle furore last night. Referee Shayne Hayne penalised Smith for a grapple tackle on Bronco second-rower Sam Thaiday at Suncorp Stadium in the 51st minute of a spiteful final.
If the video review panel charges Smith tomorrow, he could be rubbed out for up to two matches, ruling him out for the season.
Smith pleaded guilty to a grapple tackle earlier this year and escaped suspension, but the incident left him with 93 carry-over points. If the Test star is charged and takes another early plea, that will earn him an additional 211 points. That would put Smith out of next Friday night's big semi-final against Cronulla as well as the grand final in two weeks - if the Storm get there.
Smith is almost certain to fight the charge so he can play as the Storm try to defend their title.
And the Storm's problems don't end there - back-rower Jeremy Smith could also be charged with a "chicken wing'' - from the same tackle on Thaiday.
On the tackle, Cameron Smith said: "I saw on the replay that my arm was up around his head.
"I don't think there was any intent involved. I didn't try and twist or choke him.''
The tackle resulted in a flare-up as Thaiday resented his treatment, with players rushing in from all sides, several with fists flying.
Once order was finally restored, Hayne cautioned Smith and awarded the Broncos a penalty

Melbourne suck, they ruin the game. Then you idiots bring up a topic made by News LTD and claim you don't do the most grappling. Hello... I saw more than 30-40 in the Warriors game alone, but Jason Robinson was sick and tired of blowing the whistle.
