Sorry for the above photos being posted on two windiws, but I'm old so take pity on me
These were the two photos posted on Facebook where Carney made comments to the other person in the photos

As long as he can focus and stay out of trouble he will be great for us. He also may know something about our next coach.

Doust will at least get a Crown lager fuelled bubbler at the entrance to the Taj. However he would not be able to train as he would be perpetually inebriated unless Doust swapped his fluids between beer and water depending on his need for sobriety due to training and playing.

I know this may not sit well with some on the forum and I get this point of view.

Todd Carney is a top class player and a great signing for us if it happens. He has vision and an X factor and is a natural half.

Worth a short term risk.

Thank for the post
It will be interesting to see if anything comes of it

Be carefull what you say
A lot of people are bagging him and dont want him
I think he would be a good addition
Despite what others think
At least a 2 year deal though

Judging by recent articles posted on the Dragons website, it looks like McCrone is almost a certain starter for us in 2017.
If this Carney thing can happen, the board should make it happen. If Josh McCrone is our halfback for the entirety of 2017 we are throwing our season away before it even begins.

I'd be wary of expecting much out of Carney. 2010 is a long time ago. The guy is 30 and has been a heavy drinker for probably close to half his life and he is injury prone(probably due to being on the piss 4 times a week). The fact that Catalans didn't want him speaks volumes imo.

They already threw the season away when they left Mary in charge.

I seriously doubt that Carney is on our radar. He hasn't played for what 6 months or so, hasn't done any pre-season training and hasn't pkayed at NRL level for 2 or 3 years.
For him to capture any of his form from 4 or 5 years ago would he a dream only, similar to Soward.
We cannot go back to dream of how a pkayer played 4, 5, 6 or even 7 years ago.
Some say our season is already shot, and that maybe the case, so we don't really need to manufacture a dream from the past.
2017 is unknown at this point, we really don't even know the make-up of the 17, all conjecture and opinion.
Yes, our situation is not ideal, however, as a long term plan, I'm prepared to give Mann, Nona and even McCrone the benefit of the doubt and not go back to the past.
Also, given the Foran timeline, it is unlikely Carney will get a clearance to play at all in 2017.

I share your sentiments on that , Saints Forever , and it would be great to know that our team possessed that - never say die - attitude .

I believe that we need to sign ourselves a real , leader of the pack , someone like that well mannered James Graham , who could kick the players up the asse , pull em around by the nose and give them an occasional clip over the ears , just for good measure . In short a leader that they would all respect , or perhaps even fear , whatever the case may be , as long as the desired results follow .

If the Dragon hierarchy could lure him to the Big Red V , instead of Manly , then we certainly would have a team with that no surrender attitude . Still we have ourselves a decent team this year and should Lady Luck smile upon us , we all will have something to cheer about .

James Graham has got to plenty of Grand Finals in the Superleague and the NRL but just out of interest, has he actually won anything?

Now , Kiama Saint , we are both ' a bit long in the tooth ' , however we both know that Premiership trophys are won by clubs and not individual players , regardless of how good they may be .

The point I was trying to make is that a player such as he , will do everything that he can to win , but of course the entire team must make the effort , one can not do it alone . He inspires his team , whether that be at club or Test match level , worth his weight in gold , IMO .
