Explain that though, thats what im getting at. What is that based on? because so far its all hype and aggression. FWIW im not trying to argue that Webb and Klemmer are the same quality, just that both of them are massivly overhyped without really doing anything to warrant it.

People come out and say stuff like "OMG Klemmer is a beast" or "He'll be an automatic selection for Australia for 10 years". What makes people think this though? he's not a forward leader, he's not particularly skillful or talented and he isnt a workhorse or 80min starter. So what is he besides aggressive??

What makes Klemmer any better than Andrew Fafita?

I agree with what you're saying in regards to Fifita, Andrew should have gotten himself to the point where he's an automatic selection for the Blues, and maybe he will from 2016 onwards. What makes you think Klemmer's a forward leader? Even in a strong Dogs/Blues pack he still leads the way with his actions and he's still bloody young for a front rower, and still fairly raw.

Agree he's more of an impact player at this stage, but to go as well as he has on the biggest rep stages at 22(?) is pretty damn promising for the future. He rips in, obviously trains the house down and unlike Fifita, looks like he actually gives a shit.

The Blues have been made aware of the Parker-Gagai confrontation from last month and discussed it in camp at Coffs Harbour.
When did NSW players, staff and fans become one big knitting circle?

Gus nailed it today when he said the media talked up these young kids as superstars when in reality they have barley taken their first steps in NRL. Funny as then Johns started talking up the winger and Gus jumped in with "yes just like that" lol.

Klemmer looks a good big young prop but lets discuss in three years if he is anything special. At the moment he looks the goods but as has been said so did Webb, Taylor, Williams and numerous other forwards for one or two years.

If the Klemmernator continues to improve and plays for ten years then he'll be spoken of with the likes of Tallis and Roberts and some of those other guys.

If he has two big years then it is still pretty cool. Not many are good enough to make origin in the first place.

If he has one big origin series and nsw win then he'll have his own little place in folklore.

If he eats KFC on the way home from training everyday then he'll end up like Webb and Taylor.

I don't get the Klemmer hype either. He played tough in Origin for a while. Good, he's supposed to.

For me, he will always be that wanker who went off his tree at the ref earlier this year, when the ref made the correct call, and got put in the bin. He's an idiot who does not back up his aggression with rugby league work on the field.

This. This is pretty much my entire point. Klemmer is absolutely nothing yet, he might be, but he just as easily (and statistically more likely) wont be. Webb had one outstanding year for the Cows and a memorable moment or two in the Origin arena but then turned into an absolute potato. Tony Williams looked like he'd be absolutely unstoppable, he showed us he was big/fast/skillful but then jointed Webb on the scrap heap just as quickly (faster really). Dave Taylor has more skill than Williams and could have been anything, he achieved far more than Klemmer has at the same stage of their careers and is likely to end up in England once his contract is up, if not before because nobody wants the lazy genius anymore. Andrew Fafita is a better player than all of these aforementioned players, yet seems to already be on the outer in the Origin arena after what? 3 or 4 games?

I dont see anything in Klemmer that says he'll be any better than these players mentioned above, in fact most of them were far more promising prospects at one point than he is right now.

One thing is obvious, however credit where it is due. How does Parker play so well with that massive chip on his shoulder ?

There was also a story a few years ago about Parker making Yow Yeh cry during the Kangaroos camp in the UK.

They all went to Fridays after the match and apparently Parker was picking on Jharal again until Dane stepped in..

Klemmer is a great player. What does it matter if he isn't a great player in a few years time. He's a great player now. He deserves accolades now.

Just because guys like Webb and Williams have had a good year and gone shit we're supposed to hold back on praising young players because they may stop being good at some point in future? Great way to sell the game that.
