i'm not the dope using crap from The Roar written by David Lord

No, you're just a small minded dope who does nothing but try and tear down people working hard for the game and what they believe in. David Lord has far more credibility than you or your other troll buddies.

Actions speak louder than words. Go and volunteer for the bid of your choice or make a worthwhile contribution to any worthy cause. Soooooo easy to knock - a lot harder to do something and try and make a difference. No matter the outcome, myself, RednBlackBear and anyone else who is involved in any bid as a volunteer are winners because we got off our arse and had a go.

again another CC nutter who refuses to answer the question and claims to know more than TV executives

Don't remember claiming anything like that.

that isn't saying i know more than TV execs

 The things you call the bosses at channel 9. Every person on here bags them out for making the wrong decisions. Unless you think of yourself as a dumbass f**kwit then damn right you think you know more than tv execs.

In a nutshell, neither can believe the Bears aren't already in and decried travel costs to WA.

Does the commission need to be reminded about the disaster the Western Reds were in Perth, and the Adelaide Rams in the Super League?
Both clubs were backed with News Ltd money, but still failed miserably. League will never compete in AFL heartlands, while rugby can chip away with good crowds following the Western Force thanks to the many Kiwis, South Africans, and Brits living in Perth.
.

lol, we have a Perth water polo and baseball team that can afford to play in a national comp but the NRL with its billion $ income deal is going to struggle to fund travel for a Perth NRL Team? Talk about clutching at straws!

I also find it amusing that people consider the culling of the three year old Reds a disaster yet no one seems to think that the disaster that was North Sydney bears in the late 90's, after all the time they had to build their business, is an issue. Talk about double standards!

I find it sad that RL people have so little faith in our great game.

What disaster in the 90s? Making the finals more often than not? Relocating? Building a new stadium? Our "business" was around for 90 odd years in the top flight, yours 3 years and you want to talk about which one had issues?

Why waste your time with rubbish arguments PR/RnBB... you both know neither bid would have any trouble staying afloat.

We know the media has absolutely nfi about Rugby League further than Penrith, why encourage them?

So if playing one game at NSO constitutes the Central Coast Bears as Sydney, then I guess the Rabbitohs are Perths team and the Sea Eagles/Bulldogs are Brisbane teams too.. Ps Brisbane Broncos have Sydney based corporate sponsors so they are obviously affecting sponsorships that would otherwise go to local clubs. Shock horror...

Can you tell Florimo that they arent a Sydney team, because he keeps including the North Shore of Sydney ( all the way to Milsons Point) in the Bears catchment area...

Milsons Point is about a kilometer from the Sydney CBD...

Agreed, I have already stepped out of line a few times. It's tiring, I'm going to back supporting the Central Coast Bears bid, doing what I can and hopefully the NRL expand with the CCBears/WAReds soon.

Might have something to do with the Bears brand and history, a little bit about it being a neglected area and being a hub for many old Bears fans. Doesn't change the fact that they will be based on the CC and play all but one game out of Bluetongue does it?

But you want to have your cake and eat it to...

You keep saying they are not a Sydney team, but Florimo inlcudes the North Shore of Sydney in this 1.1 million catchment area...

You cant have it both ways...

Is some 10 year old kid from Neutral Bay or Mosman who wasnt even alive when the North Sydney Bears were around, going to follow a team that represents an area 80kms away?

The kid wasn't, but his parents and grand parents were. As were his uncles, older cousins and maybe even older siblings.

If David Gallop insists that the Central Coast Bears bid strength lies with ties to the North Shore, who are you to try and argue that? What a petty rant considering its been part of the over all plan all along but it still doesn't change the fact we'll be based and play out of the CC.

It doesnt matter what David Gallop thinks...

Has he ever said anything negative about any of the bids?

He is a politician trying to keep everyone happy, and doesnt have the balls to make a hard call...

But it's by no way a negative in any aspect, no matter how you see it. It's a positive, it bring corporate partners to the game that other clubs can't (they've had 10 years to do so), it also caters for the people of the NS. However it's still based and plays out of CC.

It doesn't matter of David Gallop thinks? You lost the argument right there mate.

He may not even still be there in 2015...

If I was one of the bid teams I'd be trying to impress the 8 people on the IC...

If you get 5 on board you are home...

Maybe so but he is still the one person whom has had contact with all the bids, he is the common denominator. Who says we're not trying to also "impress" the IC?

They pretty much can, it's a unique situation.

Are you actually suggesting that you would be happier with this bid if they were smaller with less fans?

Not at all.

I'm just pointing out the double standards of the argument that the Central Coast Bears are not another Sydney team, but then in the next breath say that 70% of the people you claim to represent live in Sydney...

Don't see the double standard - its a unique situation arising from the fact the Bears fans, rightly or wrongly, feel they were rorted and have turned their back on the game and won't come back unless there is a team called the Bears. They're happy for it to be on the Coast because the members voted in 1997 to relocate and build a stadium there. The Coasties just want a team. initially they were anti, but even the hard bitten surely realise now its Bears or nothing, so they'll support. A big plus has been the fact we'r now based up there, staff up there, in the community every week etc etc. We've been trying to head north since 1981, so we're hardly blow-ins....
