Florimo can obviously see how much the CC has to offer for a national competition and the next broadcast deal.

Brutus, you make some good posts mate.
BUT what is with this TV deal?
Vital?
Look at the damn papers!
This team (Storm) are f**king poison.
I am not saying "boot them out", hell I would still be willing to give them another sh*t, albeit without funding and within the caps rules - but at the moment they represent everything wrong with the game, their "value" to the TV deal is five tenths of f**k all, and it aint going to due down for a few years yet.

As much as I loved the Bears in their original incarnation...the people running this bid have and are acting kinda f***ed.

they are crazy and possessed. obsessive even.

they REALLY want a team

I would not care if the sharks folded. it could end up being a good thing. Hardly a club with room to grow.

like i said in another thread, you want a club to die and i will kick you square in the nets..just cant fathom how someone can just want someone elses club to die..

yea i am sick to death of the bears too. every single time there is an incident they start up with it. If the market was there, the coprorate dollars were there then it would have happened by now. They had their chance on the central coast, they had their chance when they rolled over for manly. Imo, give it a rest, and when you actually put together a proposal that doesnt involve starting a sh*t team on the coast we will let you know.

This is more to do with people wanting to protect their own reputations and legacy in the game, rather than the right thing to do for the central coast and RL in general.

 Great work Florimo. Someone has a contingency plan.

We have a club with no sponsors, an average crowd of 11k who are all disgusted with their club, and a sudden $1.7 million debt.

Suddenly they make Cronulla look like Man U.

Pretty sad if most of you twats would prefer a bye.

And Florimo's actions still fall far short of Manly's when Norths were on deaths row.[/rockin ronny impersonation]

It's not an isolated incident from Florimo.

They did the same thing when the media was all over the Sharks.

Yeah I recall them doing it last year as well. How dumb are they, Titans set out a great blueprint for getting a club into the competition, and this whiny bitch just pops up every few months saying they club would be ready for the next season if required

There is a game at bluetongue in a few weeks time, how about you focus on getting a decent crowd to that game and proving there is the support there for a rugby league team.

They could replace the Storm management with the Bears management, and become the Melbourne Bears!!!

Man U is reported to be in 700 million pounds in debt ... things aren't exactly rosy there either.

But they are worth $1.9 billion.......

The debt is due to the Yank owners... not due to the running of the football club.

If Melbourne go under we need another team to replace them. There will be a FG, NSW Cup, U20s and junior teams full of players looking for a game. If they have nowhere to go then we can look forward to another drain off to Union, ESL and perhaps even AFL and that certainly would be a disaster for the game.

Florimo is just looking out for his interests, which he is perfectly intitled to do. I wonder if it came to it would he be willing to move his bid down south?

Foint the nasty finger at Flo, but hows the form of the Storm players manager who has already hawked his client to the Rebels?

Unlike Flo, the managers negotiated these contracts with Melbourne in the first place.

someone tell old greggy that its not the CC divine right to have an NRL team, they dont deserve one and NSW doesnt need another team..given the chance he will circle every NSW club wanting them to die, he had his chance with the old bears and it went balls up, you dont see newtown polishing a turd and relocating it and selling it as a whole new product just to get back in the game...

perth should be next..

Pious garbage from a Cronulla fan, surprise. They'll be No News Corporation handout to help you next time you need $, you like Adelaide as a city?

And how's that redevelopment going by the way?

If we had a divine right, we'd have never been 'criteria-ed' out in 1999.

A Central Coast Bears team would add little to the game. We may as well go back to the old NSWRL and kick the Warriors out, because we are Rugby League and have no vision . If Melbourne stops working, another QLD team would be more viable or try Adelaide/Perth.

Now's not the time to be saying this stuff but I get the feeling the Storm will go belly up, and I'd rather see the Bears come in than have 15 teams in the comp. Since no Adelaide or Perth franchises are on the cards and the Bears are ready to go, why not chuck them back in if the Storm fold?

Read his comment in todays Australian about hoping to see Slater in a red and black jersey next year, pretty s***ty if you ask me when the Storm fans are doing it tough.
