Could Chad possibly become the first captain- coach in decades when it turns to shit at the cows? Must be great feeling loved after being discarded by the Sharks.
If Payten gets sacked, I can imagine Chad saying get John Morris up here.
I know Cowboys were using a ex player used to play in halves for them during offseason coaching the juniors and it's not JT

Cows struggling hard to have a reserve grader as co-captain. Gotta give it to the Chad though, his ability to get himself a guaranteed spot in first grade is remarkable.
They say he is a big voice at the club but fork me imagine Chad being a big voice at your club in 2022. They must be hurting hard in NQ.

The Chadley went alright, but not an $800 thousand buck halfback performance.

Gawd I laughed watching the Donks and Kevvie the Saviour. I think Reynolds might have a long season playing behind some of those forwards.

And as for the pumped up new Greg Inglis at fullback, he had a shocker. Kevvie might have to keep Alfie on the paddock with a cattle prod to keep him on the correct part of the field. "Over there son".... "Over here son"....... "Quick back here"

Yeah I know this forum is traumatised by a near decade of Chad's total handbraking of our attack and relentless needless inside balls under the guise of calm management...

But he really tightened up the Cowboys attack last night, price tag or whatever not so important but he looks to be bringing some structure and straightness to the attack which is gonna help those flair guys play off the back of him.

Honestly think that he'll be worth the price to bring that game plan together for a couple seasons to get them off wooden spoon contendership and pushing for the eight again.. then hopefully Dearden and Drinkwater can stand up as their long term halves..

Townsend stayed a few years too long for us but he has a role in the game for that kinda club

Yeah it was surreal to watch Chad mouthing words of strong direction and conviction in the pre game huddle. He went alright but I'm glad it's not us. Once he fluffs a few, he won't be able to help himself do it again and again. Go Captain Chad.

He always comes out at the start of the season firing. By SOO 1 he will put his hand up, but its all down hill from then on.

Having a bit of a gander at the cowboys stampede forum and you can see the moment in their match day thread where the penny drops about The Chad 🤣

The comment that made me laugh the most was this one

800k for a half who’s creativity extends to bombing the ball and praying.

I feel sickZ
Those cowboys fans when they seen Chads chip bombs, then Burton launches them from the Dogs basically out of stadium in height

So it took them one game to work it out…!

These FNQ’ers are built tough. Fake toughness doesn’t cut the mustard…

Biggest red flag that Payten may not be as great as I thought…
I don't think it helped that Payten inherited Holmes on fullback money playing centre.
Taulmolo who since start of 2021 seems to be going downhill and there is years left on that contract.
You throw Chad on good coin it's a mess, they will lose some quality players because of this.
That young Tom Gilbert goes well and is off contract
