a double header at the reebok...or whatevr its called these days
Hope Hull make the finals
Basically, I use two criteria:
1) Capacity, Shay holds 14,000, which in my opinion is perfect. It's not huge, so it won't look empty and there's little chance any fan who wants to go, will miss out on a ticket.
2) Location, it's pretty much bang in the middle of the two teams.
Where would you guys play it?
Fair enough, but why have the bigger of the two matches at the smaller stadium??Due to the teams there should be one semi each side of the Pennines.
So for that reason I'll go with Saints vs Leeds at Salford or Warrington and wire vs hkr at Hudds or Doncaster.
Leeds to Manc or Warrington is easy and Hull is at the arse end of the m62 so somewhere in the East of Yorkshire so its about the middle for that game.
Saints vs Leeds on Friday 31st July at Warrington. 8pm kick off.
Wire vs Hull KR on sat 1st August at Leeds Headingly. 12.45 kick off.
Not sure about the kick off time for the second one.
There must be something else happening in Leeds that day??
One thing against Hudds is it's a football ground.
They like to keep the games (and money) in the game.
I agree with that logic and good on them for thinking that way.Saints vs Leeds on Friday 31st July at Warrington. 8pm kick off.

why can't they have the semi finals as a double header... and put a bidding process.
Warrington seems an odd choice for the leeds fixture. And a friday night too is strangest of all, i may be wromg but i cannot recall a friday semi final happening before? Location and time makes it a big ask for leeds fans making the trip, honestly less than 10k would not surprise me for this game now when it should be much more

BUT, I'd feel a bit robbed right now if I were a Leeds fan. Warrington is hardly a neutral venue, it's almost a home match now for Saints...
Fair point, that's why I was hoping for Wire/Saints and Leeds/Hull KR semis...The problem is when the game is between a lancs team and a west Yorkshire one it is impossible to find a suitable rugby league ground that does not favour one side or the other.
It is the problem with playing a regional game.

Leeds 24 - St. Helens 14. Anyone watch it?
