I think Doueihi has to be patient this year. Barring injuries to the top 17 I don’t see him getting much NRL time this year.
Well for me it comes down to Sutton. If the coach plays Sutton then Doueihi will have to wait and I don’t know how patient he will be. There’s a few teams on the hunt for a 5/8th.
That’s similar to my take on it. We’ve got the depth now, new kids are hungry and out to impress under a new coach. The need for 2 hookers is pointless. 4 forwards should be fine.
What’s interesting is that everyone still has Farah on their minds which shows 100% faith in Cook hasn’t been reached. I guess when neither Buderus or Ennis will commit to either one as a full time hooker (fox commentary) it shows that neither are right for the job
I like the idea @Travitoh mentioned with Murray at hooker. At least the defence would be solid, in an injury crisis sure but I can’t see it otherwise.
I think the main reason that everyone’s talking about Farah is that he’s on 600k a year and it’ll be frustrating to see it go to the bears. But everyone’s on here agrees that 1 hooker is the best way to go. Murray filling in at hooker is quite a solid idea considering Surgess can shift to lock and we’ll already have 2 second rowers in the bench. We have some real size and power this year so I think it’s in our best interest to use it. Nicholls has a really nice offloading game as well and I think he’s a bolter for the starting 13. I’d be using Sutton this year and giving Doueihi a shot around origin time when all our origin players go. Say Gagai, GI and possibly even Crichton. Doueihi will benefit playing 80 minutes with the big boys at the bears as well.
If Seibold uses the 17 that I think he’ll use that leaves out Doueihi, Turner, Clark and Farah. Also one of Musgrove or Tatola will probably miss out as well.
Musgrove should be used if fully fit off the bench. I think he has played his best footy when being used as an impact player.
