Maybe he should sack his agent for getting him such a shitty deal.

Fair enough, but he was a nobody at the start of last yr and would not have been able to command 200k plus.
Now he can, and everyone will want him.

He's in a great team at the moment DCE.

Why would he go to Homebush to play alongside John Sutton?
A DCE-GI halves combo would go alright I reckon. Even a DCE-Reynolds combo. DCE could do for Adam what Fordan did for him.
Oh no Bunniesman is going to flood the forum like he did when he thought the Rabbitohs would sign Wayne Bennett
Or like when I thought we would sign Greg Inglis.

Broncos will get him if it's true. He'll easily slot in whatever money Petero is on this year for next year.

I imagine he'll go wherever the money is best. Petero, at the end of his career, may not be on that much. And if the Broncos have another great year with rep selection, there will be incentives in some of those contracts. It's a star studded lineup. I doubt that they could afford him. Guys like Cronk and DCE are in really great positions when it comes to negotiating. DCE is young and inexperienced but plays such a crucial position he will probably get far more than he should at this stage of his career. I mean if Sandow can get $500 000...

Bulldogs or Souths would be my guess.

But how is this possible? I was told that G Stewart has put pen to paper with Saints. Should be able to afford DCE...

Would love him at Souths

But I think he'd suit the Broncos colours, and I have a feeling he'll be playing there

I haven't read through this thread but did anyone else find the funniest part that it was pretty much confirmed that Sandow is on 550k.

IF he was to leave Manly at all, he would be absolutely batshit insane to not go to the Broncos. He's a QLD'er and if he keeps progressing like he has so far, his career will take off in Brisbane.

Seriously what a mess Manly is these days. They would of known what DCE wanted and to let it get to this stage where his manager is asking for a release in the papers... Geez

I hope he stays at Manly but it looks like they will need to shed some players.

Broncos have managed their cap pretty well the last couple of years, missing out on Inglis enabled them to re-sign most of the squad through to 2013 with the senior players on 3-4 year contracts.

The only players off contract this year are Te'o, Beale, Dodds and Capewell with Civoniceva likely to retire. If 3 or 4 of them go they could make a play.

my thoughts exactly

orr is the idiot, not manly, he's the one who negotiated the deal

You're right. Orr should have demanded $300k a season for an unproven half that there were no other offers for. How could Manly say no?

I find it hard to believe DCE had no offers when he signed that contract.

The Daily Telegraph can also reveal Cherry-Evans is on a contract worth an embarrassing $85,000 a year - less than dozens of Toyota Cup players.

His deal will increase to $125,000 for next season - still a pittance given what he achieved last season. He could command anything up to $450,000 a year.

Tough titties. He signed a contract, he should honour it. Arian Foster in the NFL was the leading Rusher in the NFL a season ago, he was on a pittance in NFL standards, something like 500k his rookie contract. After his breakout season he could have comanded $50M+ over 5 years on the open market, but as he had a contract he honoured it, no prima dona hold outs.

Cherry-Evans will get his pay-day eventually.
