Yeah you can't blame the Tits for re-signing one of their best talents but the bottom line is they got greedy. All they had to do was let Elgey go and DCE was all theirs. Tits hanging onto Elgey meant Manly had no other choice than to hang onto their own.

f**king stupid play by the Tits really. If they had their time again they'd swap Elgey for DCE in a heartbeat.

no

you and Danny Boy forget Sezer who we had to let go because we thought we were getting DCE. We DID let one go, we just decided it wasn't going to be LG. So it's kinda dumb to be making the 'you can't keep all halves' argument really.

Tenacious, mate I'm willing to discuss this reasonably without name calling and tell me if I'm wrong. I'm of the opinion that your club should have done anything and everything to get DCE. You guys are down and out. DCE is your shining light and saviour. ANYTHING!!!

So Manly put in a big offer for your remaining half? Who gives a shit? Let him go. The last thing you want to do is piss off the only club that has every right to stop DCE from going over. Not only that, by releasing Elgey they've made it almost impossible for Manly to retain DCE.

The Tits were on the roulette table and won a fortune. Instead of walking away they put it all on red and lost.

The thing is, I don't believe for one second that DCE was ever coming here after the way he conducted himself during this whole thing. So had we let LG go then you guys could well have snatched DCE anyway, leaving us with nothing. LG wouldn't be on that much anyway, so I'm sure you could have been able to afford both.

Anyway I'm happy we kept Elgey, he's shown more class in his handful of games than a lot of other rookie halfbacks who've been established in the NRL for a good year or two.

you clearly aren't playing with a full deck

what possibly goes through your geniused brain to think that getting rid of Elgey would have stopped DCE backflipping

Just a theory here, but I think manly panicked at the end of negotiations because they had no halfback, and they've basically had to pay overs to get dce back. Maybe if they had elgey they wouldn't off panicked and thrown so much at dce and maybe he wouldn't of back flipped. Big maybe though

Not only that, you now have the cap space to give him a forward back to give him space, and outside backs to finish off moves.

Manly, not so much...

I think the Titans are the winners here, in a couple of years when the likes of Stewart, Lyon and Matai are on the outer, Cherry will be taking up a significant bulk of the cap and the best Manly will be able to do is rely on juniors

If the tit are clever they would make a play for Jayden Nikorima or Ashley Taylor to partner LG and make a play for a big name forward or two.

Fair enough, but DCE only started acting up when Manly missed out on LG and started getting in his ear. No two ways about it, the Tits could have got him had they played their cards better.

The f**k are you smoking? How dare the Titans re-sign a young gun. It's unfair! Why should they be able to have two halves?

Yeah and how dare Manly resign their half that they brought up through the grades.

So many double standards in this thread, it's a joke.

Also if you think that Manly would have went hard for DCE if they got Elgey your a moron.

Titans gambled and lost.

Titans supporter? Why no?

yes im a titans supporter. LG is a young playmaker full of talent. Has just as much potential to be an established half in the NRL within the next 2-3 years if he keeps going at the rate he is. On top of that he is much much cheaper option than DCE. Considering all these factors than LG is looking like a better option than DCE, who will take up alot of the salary cap.

I agree. Had we lost LG we would of had no halves having Sezer going to Canberra. There was always talk that Sezer was leaving in 2016 so we would have lost our young local half in LG and DCE staying at Manly.

Lyon and Stewart's contracts end 2016 so that's a cute theory.

It'll be interesting to see what happens with them. Milf + Hunt have so many years ahead of them, the Broncos will only be able to keep one of the three standout creative juniors (Nikorima brothers and Taylor), unless they find a spot in the outside backs for Jayden.

With Elegy at half I think they're better targeting Maloney for experience. Taylor/Nikorima are likely to link up at Manly who would do well partnering with DCE.
